Check the following to address this issue.

1. No power to the dryer
Make sure there's power getting to the dryer. Check for tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses. An electric dryer uses two circuit breakers or fuses, and if only one of two is tripped or blown, the dryer might still run but not heat. Sometimes the power cord disconnects or burns at the dryer, if this is the case, the wiring and the terminal block must be repaired or replaced.

2. Heating element
A burned out heating element will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Replace the element if found defective.

3. Thermal fuse
Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

Kenmore dryer wont start

What ya should do is look for sign of why the dryer is dead. The most likely thing that kills a dryer is overheating. This is caused by air flow blockage. To do it right you gotta take it apart. All Kenmore dryers are not the same. Their are whirlpool built dyrers with filter on top others with filter inside. Their are LG kenmores as well as Frigidaire built ones and even others. They ain't all built the same or come apart the same however they all are built on the same principle. Clothes are tossed into heated air until moisture is removed. When clothes dry they give off lint which some folk call fluff. As the lint builds the chances of a fire are better. At some point the dryer will overheat and blow the fuse. The fuse is located near the control thermostat on most dryers. If the fuse is fine and you know you have power to the unit, you might want to check the door switch for continuity. Here are a few more thing to look at on my dryer repair page

No heat in dryer

Hello there Here are some ideas that may help you
- Things that could stop a gas dryer from heating:
- glow bar igniter, thermal fuse ( not all models ), coils on the gas valve, gas valve, thermostats, motor heat switch, timer, selector switch, sensor.
On the back of the dryer near the fan blower housing is a thermal fuse, if this opens up ( no continuity ) the gas burner often quits but the motor will still run. If the thermal fuse is open/bad, always clean, change, adjust the venting system and vent hood first and clean out the dryers air ducts. Sometimes it is a good idea to replace the operating thermostat at the same time.
Thermal fuse parts help link...on blower housing cover, can not be re-set, must be replaced if is open (no continuity between pins).
hope this is very helpful for you

best regards Michael

Dyrer shut off while running!

It could have blown the thermal fuse. On many dryers there is a thermal fuse that will blow if the dryer overheats. It is usually mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means it is bad. This is assuming that power is getting to the washer. Have you checked the house breaker box to see if it tripped a breaker? Hope this helped.

My dyrer doesn't turn on. It just stop working.

Check the following to address this issue.

No power to the dryer
Make sure there's power getting to the dryer. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power with a voltmeter or by plugging something else in.

Door switch / Door switch actuator lever
The dryer would not start with a broken door switch. Replace the door switch if found defective.

Most dryers have a door switch actuator lever - when you close a dryer door, it presses against the lever, which actuates the door switch. If the lever is broken, the switch would not activate and the dryer would not start. Replace the lever, if broken.

Note: Door switch actuator lever usually comes with the door switch assembly and it is recommended to get the whole assembly since there is almost no price difference between the door switch assembly and just the lever. Check your model for more details.

Note: It is recommended by most dryer manufacturers to replace a hi-limit thermostat when replacing a thermal fuse.

Timer
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).

Maytag dyrer mdg6200aww the heating systwm does not stay on

Remove the vent from the rear of the dryer.
With no clothes in the dryer and the dryer set for hi heat run the dryer several minutes.
With a accurate thermometer check the exhaust vent temperature.
It should be 135 to 160 degrees.
If it is, you are OK. Just need to clean your vent and connecting tubing.
If not, replace your gas valve coils.

Dyrer won't heat...how do you get to the heating unit?

Take 2 screws out the bottom of the front panel and yank the panel off from the front. The fuse, highlimit and heater are all easily accessed on the bottom rear left hand side. All you need to do is remove two hexhead screws and the heating assembly comes right out.

Whirlpool gas dryer

From the sound of your problem, it appears you may have a faulty overtemp switch that gets too hot , opens the circuit to disable gas and flame, then cools down and allows it to start again.. Since you didn't provide a specific model number with your question.. use this link to find replacement whirlpool thermal fuses etc.. http://www.pcappliancerepair.com/whirlpool-dryer.php#fuse

Hope this helps..
