To start check all cable connection, if the TV is connected to an aerial check it out.
Try unplugging all cables apart DVD player and check if this is happening when you play DVD, after ensuring that is not a cable problem.

If this is not a connection problem, and happens on all channels then it is a major fault and will require a technician to fix it.

Random spots on rear projection TV are usually caused either by a faulty light engine, or by a problem concerning the main digital board.

Call the number listed on the owners manual to arrange support.

Bright white spots on mitsubishi wd-73833 I just replaced the lamp and now these bright white spots have started to appear!

This unit uses a DLP (digital light processor) chip and if this starts to fail then you will get spots appearing on the screen. The DLP chip will need to be replaced.

Hp dv9000 switches on to show coloured lines on screen.

Hello

My first guess is that the screen circuitry has gone bad - although fixable. Use an external monitor to verify this. If the external monitor is fine then the screen circuitry is bad, if the external screen shows the same problem then the video chip or associated circuitry has gone bad. My company fixes these all the time.

HOW TO GET RID OF THE WHITE SPOTS

Hello fish_aholic,

Those white spots are the mirrors on the DMD IC failing to respond to the input signals. The most likely cause is that the transistors operating the mirrors have failed. In other words the only way to fix this problem is to replace the DMD IC. Your best bet is to replace the module the DMD is on. You will need the schematic diagram to get the part number. I would also like to suggest that you get a qualified TV technician to examine and repair this problem. This is to avoid any damage that may occur.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,
