Normally this is caused by the dirty water reserves lid is not seated properly. Take the lid off completely. Make sure there is no residue on the rubber part that seals the tank. When putting the lid back on, put the back hinges on first, then latch the front hinge. The lid has to be sealed completely for the vacuum effect to function.
Sometime an obstruction in the path causes the suction to be poor or non-existent. Put some hot water into a pail or sink and **** it up. This will aid in cleaning the path out. Check the front attachment panel and make sure it is snapped in tight. The attachment cover on the front of the machine where you normally keep the hand brush, must be tightly closed as well. Also, there is a float in the extraction tank that will stop the vacum effect when the tank is full. It can sometimes get stuck in the "off" or "up" position, which will stop the vacuum from taking place. Make sure the unit is off and tap the tank. The float should them drop down unless something stops it. Check and make sure that isn't the case; clear it out if there is anything in the way. I found that if you tip the machine while cleaning the float will sometimes get stuck.

Good luck and I hope this will help you to resolve your issue. Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

  • Kirby Ultimate G vacuum cleaner
  • Kirby Ultimate G Diamond vacuum cleaner

This is unused shampoo attachment. We buy new parts and assemble this shampoo attachment so you will be the first one to use it.
Set includes:
  1. Tray with shield
  2. Nozzle
  3. Brush roll
  4. Belt
  5. Container with cap
  6. Hose
  7. 12 oz. shampoo
NOTE - pictured Kirby Sentria shampooer box may not be included.
If you have never used this shampoo, we highly recommend reading our ONLINE MANUAL. This is a simple but very effective unit but you have to learn how to use it and "common sense" will not be enough! HOW TO - V I D E O S

Tank with soapy solution is attached in place of the bag. It utilizes the air coming out of the exhaust to blow soapy water on a small screen that turns it into thick foam. The foam is simply laid over the carpet (you must vacuum before you shampoo). Foam allows the spread of a small amount of water over the area so carpet is not soaked all the way through. Foam is left on the carpet for a few minutes so it has just enough time to moisten the fibers of the carpet and loosen the dirt (not too long otherwise foam may dry). Then foam maker is set to "OFF" and you slowly pull Kirby vacuum over the area where you laid the foam. The rotating brush in the shampooer nozzle rubs the moisture off carpet fibers and and throws it into the tray in front of the unit. You will not see gallons of dirty water but that is because you did not put it on the rug in the first place. Carpet should dry within 1-4 hours (depends how many times you laid the foam and what is humidity in the room). After it dries it has to be vacuumed. Solution that did not get picked up with the shampooer brush dries and shampoo additives do not let the dirt stick back to the fibers of the carpet. It is loose when it dries so in order to pick up what is left, you must vacuum again.
Shampoo:
You can use any carpet shampoo sold in your local store but make sure that this is carpet shampoo that makes foam and pay attention how much you have to dilute it with water as various shampoo products come in different concentration. Avoid using "just anything" that makes foam. Some household chemicals (such as dishwasher fluid) will do great job but it will leave carpet unprotected so dirt will stick to it so well that you will have a filthy rug in no time. I shampooed my carpet, loaded clean water twice and added the cleaning solution. Then it dawned on me, the carpet is wet and there is not dirty water return. What am I doing wrong?

Look for a place where the dirty water reservoir is not sealed. There is air being sucked in somewhere else instead of the bottom where it's supposed to **** the water.

I have a blue bissell preheat 2x. While shampooing it will start to leak dirty water. When i'm done shampooing my carpets look even more filthy then when I began. Not sure why this is happening besides...

You should drain the dirty water, you should find where it is stock then drain it. If there's some leak, seal it with an epoxy. Thoroughly clean the inside and you will find there's a stock of old shampoo which causes water to become dirt.
I hope my advice help you.

It is not dispensing the shampoo on to the carpet.

Hi,

Firstly, please ensure that there is shampoo in the tank and the tank is correctly and fully inserted. There are 2 ways to dispense shampoo on to the carpet:

1. Use the solution trigger on the underside of the handle (numbered 2 in the picture below)
2. For tough stains use the "Clean Surge" button to dispense extra shampoo (numbered 3 in the picture below

Kirby Shampoo system not dispensing foam

Few possible causes

1. Valve under the sponge (water tank) is clogged. Replacement HERE.
2. Tray is now lowered all the way down.
3. You use non-foamy solution.
4. Carpet is very dirty so foam gets broken up very fast

Hope this helps,
Rocky

Bissell carpet shampooer wont dispense water

Bad Pump. You pump is where the belt attaches to spin the brushes and also puts water on the floor. Take it to you local Best Buy to be serviced or a local appliance shop which may service it.

MY FIRST QUESTION IS WHAT BRAND OF SHAMPOO ARE YOU USING??? KIRBY IS NOTED FOR REQUIRING ONLY, KIRBY SHAMPOO. PART OF THE REASON IS THAT THEY HAVE A UNIQUE FORMULA THAT WORKS SPECIFICALLY WITH THE KIRBY.
THE OTHER POSSIBILITY IS THE DISPENSER IS PLUGGED AND NEEDS A REAL GOOD CLEANING. ALSO, WHEN APPLYING THE FOAM TO THE CARPET, YOU NEED TO GO REALLY, REALLY SLOW.
THE NARROW BAND OF SUDS DOES INDICATE YOU MAY BE MOVING THE DISPENSER TOO FAST. GOOD LUCK.

My cleaner is not dispensing the shampoo solution. Still sucks up the dirty water that I manually applied with a scrub brush. I use this on my tiled screen porch floor and it has worked great many times.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover SteamVac Carpet / Upholstery Deep Carpet Cleaner.

There is a release value in the bottom the holding tank that may be bad and not opening or the trigger assm in the handle may be broken and not connecting to release the water to scrub and clean the carpets. You should really check with your local factory authorized Hoover vac dealer in your area or , please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Soap dispenser

Probably plugged with soap. Try to clean the hole under the shampoo dispenser. Put plain water in the dispenser and hope it gradually cleans it out.
