The loud sound is the sound of a compressor going bad. It will eventually stop cooling, to expensive to replace unless you now a repair man who can replace compressor and freon. You can use till it dies or buy new refridge now before it goes and you lose all your food in it. Sorry for the bad news, happens to alot of people all the time.

Call them back and make them fix it right, unless you have the tools and skill to do it yourself and let them off the hook.

Good day,
Sounds as if the relay has failed again. ....or when relays start going bad, it could be an issue with the internal part of the compressor.
But the relay approach should be your first step.

I have a Model 106-74262400 refrigerator. About five days ago, I heard it make a pop sound followed by a clicking sound over the next four days. It finally stopped cooling in the refrigerator part, but...

i would start with the basics. the pop might have been the defroster heater and the clicking is the defrost timer kicking in. if the heater is not working the evaporator will freeze solid and the air can't flow through and so you don't get any cooling.

It sounds as if you have a defective compressor start relay.  It is located on the side of the compressor, usually contained within a black plastic housing (box).  If ordered, it will most likely come with an overload proctector.  Change both parts.

Ge refrigerator

This happened to me with my side by side. The repair man came to my house, said that GE have cheap refrigerators because they are not meant to last very long. The mother board that controlled the temperature went out. A component in my freezer would get frosted up, but the heater would not kick in to reduce the freezing. Everything starts to warm up in the refrigerator as a result. A new motherboard would get the refrigerator back in timing.
