Why t takes long time for oven to heat up?

Does the oven actually heat up with the temperature more than 100 or does it just stay at 100? Alternatively, when you open the oven can you see the orange glow of the flame through the vents in the bottom of the oven and hear the gas hissing?

Oven would not light. I replaced the igniter and now it lights but it will not heat past 200 degrees. Is this the thermostat acting up or is this connected to the gas supply? Any suggestions??? My oven...

when you say now it lights. is just the ignitor lighting?or can you hear the gas flowing??? can you feel it heating at all?? should start at 100 degrees and climb up from there. no reason for it not to heat past 200 (unless set to Celsius which default setting of 350 =190degress) therefore will not heat past 200. and wont let you try to heat to 425 , that would be off the charts of Celsius conversion. sensor problem would eitherno t let stove come on or wouldnt stop from heating eitherway a code would come up in the display

How do I adjust the therastat on the oven. It is

Store bought thermometers are really slow to read the correct temperature. Give your oven at least a half hour closed to let your thermometer catch up. Calibration is very delicate and you could do more damage than good if you don't know what your doing. If you think your temp is off more than 100 degrees, chances are the thermostat is beyond repair. Anything less you can just adjust your temp to compensate. In my area, the gas company will calibrate ovens as a free service. Good luck!!

Oven not heating up

Problem with oven sensor or control board (ERC). Oven sensor at room temperature should have resistance about 1080 Ohms, and it rises with temp rise.

GE Self Cleaning Gas Range F2 Error, happens at 400 degrees and turns oven off any advice?

Your oven temperature sensor must be replaced. It is located in the oven compartment up high, may be right or left side depending on model. Smaller than a pencil about 3&1/2 inches long.

GE Profile gas range - stove works, oven doesn't heat

Set the oven for bake. Wait a couple minutes and look in the oven. If you see a orange glow the ignitor is working, but, may need to be replaced.
If you see no orange glow the ignitor definitely needs to be replaced.

I have the exact problem. We had the ignitor replaced 2 already and it works for 18 months and stops. Occasionally, it the oven won't even start to heat. I am ready to throw it out.
