I have a 2000 Sportster that has no power. I went to start it 2 weeks ago & just got a click, click, click so I bought a new battery. All was good for a day or two & then click, click, click again. I thought maybe I didn't charge the new battery long enough so I threw it back on the charger for awhile & bam, it's up & running again. I went for about an hour ride & when I shut it down, it wouldn't start again. We push started it & I made it home...with no lights. Someone told me to replace the voltage regulator so I did but now I have NO power. I didn't have any before I changed the regulator since the battery was dead on the ride home but I charged the battery for 6-8 hrs & I don't even have lights...any suggestions ???

Sorry to say your stator is toasted. Its not making amps for your batter to charge up. the way to test it is with a 12 volt battery start your bike and hold the volt meter to the positive and negative terminal. at idle it should be about 13 but at 2000rpm your looking close to 14 or better. if you dont have any of those numbers its your stator.

You still have to start buy checking the battery & it's cables

the battery to fusible links & on to fuses,to see what you do have

If your running the original battery the cold weather may have finished off your battery.
See if the head lights are operational. This will give you a clue to the battery voltage levels.
If you have a volt meter check the voltage.

I have a 2000 Denali that just turned over 200,000 and has never given me any problem until 2 weeks ago. I went to start it and it turned over and acted like it wasn't getting any fuel but wouldn't start...

Well, if you jumped the battery and it started, maybe you need a new battery. Get that checked out first. Also, when was the air filter replaced? I would probably take to an indy shop if it wasn't the battery or air filter because it could be a bunch of things: starter, fuel pump, fuel filter or fuel injectors.

Clicking sound on start-up.

a clicking sound means there was enough electric power to engage the solenoid, but not enough to turn the starter. battery is low

New battery on new bike,it kills the batterys in 2 days

Either you have a dead short in your wireing or your battery is not charging fully. Use a volt meter your battery will have 12 volts start the bike and it should read 13 plus then take it up to 2000 rpm above idle anyway it should read 14 plus. If you dont have these numbers then you have a stator or regulator problem or both. You may be geting a slight charge when running but not enough to keep the battery peaked out.
