We have a 13year JVC that when we use the remote, the red light comes on the t.v. and we hear a click, but the tv will not come on. We have turned it on in the evening and had it come right on with a perfect picture. We can not turn it on at the set, does the same thing. We have not been able to get it on for about 24 hours now. We have changed the batteries in the remote...help. After we hear the click, we will also hear another click sometimes.

There is nothing to do with the remote or its battery,it seems you have an internal fault on it.You will require an expert to deal with this problem now.

Tv won't turn on. blinking red light in lower left corner

unplug the television...wait 10 seconds and then plug back in....if you listen carefully after 5-10 seconds you will hear a click sound (the same sound that you hear when you turn on or off) ...once you have heard it, turn the TV on again using the remote. Do not turn on until you hear the click. If this does not work, try again but turn the TV on again before you hear the click. I dont know why it happens but it is as if the TV gets confused as to whether its supposed to be on or off. Most of the time, the solution is to turn it on after the click so I would always try that first.

JVC 42 inch LCD HD TV has no picture or sound

utencilio posted this fix. It worked for my JVC LT-42X579.

Okay, I found a fix! Called JVC, spoke to somebody there, here it is:
1)unplug the TV completely, no wall no power strips, completely
2)wait 10 sec
3)plug TV back in and Turn it on, the light will still be doing the same thing
4)wait 30 sec
5)ON THE TV, not the remote, locate the menu, volume (-) and power button.
6)while simultaneously holding down the menu and volume (-) button, pressed the power button ONCE and continue to hold the other 2 for 10 sec.
7)on the remote control, go to menu>settings>system info
*** now this I know as a FACT will work on systems that display: JVC - ver.5.32FO001, but I don't know of any other versions***
8)press the mute button on the remote twice
9)unplugg TV again and wait 10 sec.
10) plug TV in and turn on

It SHOULD be working normally now... Thanx to the guys a JVC support for this one, I know it seems like an obvious first place to look, but sometimes it isn't. I for one checked online forums first

Tv wont power up makes a noise but no picture

Your power transformer is likely shot. It'll cost at least $200 to have it replaced. Someone can come to your house to diagnose it. Usually costs around $65.

TV, i plug it in, turn it on, no image, "on timer" light comes on.

If you dont hear a click theres a problem in the standby power supply. if you do hear a click theres a problem in the Main power supply or sweep supply. Get a good tech to look at this for you if your not a tech. Good Luck
