I don't think the door switch is working, with the door open I pushed in the grey rubber button or boot what ever it is called and there is no click, don you think this might be the problem, is so I can't seem to locate the part # for this part and is it easy to install, or does a tech need to do it?? I have a Duet Whirlpool, I tried running the diagnostics and no code would display. Thanks for your help

Yes, if the switch isn't clicking combined with the symptoms that you are experiencing, then the door switch sounds like the problem and needs to be replaced. It isn't hard to do so don't pay someone else to do it. You can order a new one from repairclinic.com and if replacing it doesn't work (I bet it will though), then you can return the part within 30 days. Just insert your machine's model number onto the website search bar to find the part that you need. Let me know how this turns out.

If it keeps beeping then there is a fault.

Try first unplugging the appliance for ten minutes, check the lint filter, and ensure that door lock switch is working.

If the problem comes back, if this is a Whirpool duet, then there is some diagnostic you can run.
To start diagnostic mode pick any selector button other than Pause/Cancel and do the following

Press and hold for three seconds.
release for three seconds.
press and hold for three seconds.
release for three seconds.
press and hold for three seconds.

If you did it correctly all indicators will turn on at once, and you will get 88 on display. After a couple of seconds 88 will alternate with the fault code , below a list of fault codes:

My frontload whirlpool dryer panel - 17295b4.jpg

If there is no fault code stored, then try restarting cycle and re doing diagnostics.

If still no codes , then parts must be tested, starting from thermal fuse, passing to thermostate to check continuity, then testing volts at the control board contacts. This must be done by a technician.

A good idea is also calling the service number listed on the owner manual, a phonne operator will guide step by step through the diagnostic procedure.

Regards.

If the door switch is not clicking that can be the problem . the door switch can be tested reading continuity (checking ohms) with a multimeter. this is done with appliance power unplugged.

If you want to order a replacement door lock, try entering model number on the page below:

    Partselect.

Dryer won't start

If you look closely, there are 3 separate pins that must latch. One is a simple push-button style which latches no problem.
The others are little prongs at the top and bottom of door. The bottom prong latches cleanly, but the top one will not latch because the door is a bit too flexible.
Close the door normally, then firmly press on the top edge of the door. You will hear the final latch grab, then you press and hold the start button. The dryer starts normally.

My whirlpool dryer just beeps when you try to start it. The panel is lit up the door is shut, push start and it just beeps...any idea what the problem is

To unlock the Control Locked feature:
Press and hold the End Of Cycle Signal button for 3 seconds to turn this feature off.

NOTE: When the dryer is running and Control Locked light is on, the dryer can be stopped by pressing the Pause/Cancel button, but cannot be restarted until the control is unlocked.

If holding doesn't unlock the feature, it is likely a faulty interface. I am having the same problem with my Whirlpool dryer and it is the interface, but it seems that a lot of people are able to correct the issue just by pressing the End of Cycle button for 3 minutes.

Whirlpool Duet GGW9200LL1 will not start

The electric flash does not sound cool, It sounds like you have a door switch problem. Check to see if the door switch button is in tact. If it is , you may have to go after the door switch itself. Try this, press more time, less time, more time, less time buttons in that order, the whole panel should light up, open the dryer door, you should hear 1 beep and OE displayed, If you have this the door switch is ok, Catriver

Hello jmylymok,
Welcome to Fizya,

You said, you replaced burned out dryer bulb on Whirlpool GEW9250PW and now drum light won't shut off even with door closed. Dryer will not work but all panel lights function normally - UNTIL you press start. Dryer just beeps and doesn't work. When I tried the troubleshooting solutions, the error 6E comes up. What does this mean?

This sounds like the reason your bulb went out was more than just a bulb normally dying!
There is a short, or in that socked or the switch or it affected the the control panel too!!
This sounds like a hands on diagnoses job!

Let me know how it goes.

Dryer just says beep beep beep everytime I push start

sounds like you may have a bad door switch(mach thinks door is open when it is not).open door and look on front panel that door pushes into.you should find a small button covered in a grey rubber boot.push on it and listen for a click,if u dont hear a click the switch is bad.if u do hear a click it could still be bad or you can have a open thermal fuse
