I am a retired hairdresser and it sounds like one of three things or a combination. Your blades may be worn (dull) and need replacement , it may need to be oiled, the blades could be "misaligned" and need to be adjusted. You do that by removing the two screws holding the blades on, remove the blades, while you have them off, clean out any built up clippings in there and then put the blades back on. BEFORE you tighten down the screws make sure the "teeth" from the blades are lined up so the bottom blade teeth can be seen BETWEEN each top blade tooth. NOT directly on top of each other. Now tighten the screws. urn the clipper on and add a drop of clipper oil (no substitutes) onto the running blades. That should do the trick.

Brand new andis trimmer pulling hair and not cutting good

The questions about Andis T-Outliner or Andis Styliner II, about not cutting or pulling hair.
On the Andis T-Outliner trimmer if the sharpness of the blade is worn out, all the tricks and treats won't make this blade to cut hair. Before I do any kind of work to the trimmer, I first test the coil for the right amount power, I can get out of the coil, without this power, it doesn't matter how new or old the trimmer is, the trimmer will not cut hair at all. If the coil is good, I will sharpen the blade and set it according to your needs (lineups or shave setting) after the blade is sharpened and set. The trimmer will need to be, adjusted for alignment to the blade, adjust the power of the coil, and adjust the tension for the blade. All these factors are involved in the Andis T-Outliner to cut hair clean especially lineups or shaving. These adjustments work together for the trimmer to work properly. I know that we all trying to save money, which is part of life, but sometimes frustration will take over and say hell with it, I'll buy another or forget it. Manufactures make mistakes, sometimes the trimmer was not sharpened or adjusted correctly. Any case, what I'm trying to say here, if you try all the tricks & treats and can get your trimmer to work, it may be easier for you to send it to a professional to sharpen & repair the problem and set the blade according to your needs (lineups or shave setting) We specialize on Andis T-Outliner Trimmers. I need instructions for trimming longer hair. How do I trim without cutting too much off? I will be cutting my own hair. The instruction booklet only shows short hair.

Take a comb and pull the hair out as long as you want it and run the trimmer over the top of the comb... go from top to bottom or you'll loose more than you want. It's always a better idea to go to someone else that can cut your hair, though.

My andis t-outliner keeps pulling hair when cutting and it barley cuts the hair. Do the blades need adjusting?

sound like your clipper blades may require sharpening, just remove the blades and send them to a professional company specialising in scissor and clipper sharpening.

Supply cable to the trimmer seems to have a loose connection, but i cant remove the cover to repair it. The cover only has one screw to undo but cover does not seem to come off. was wondering if anyone has...

you have unscrewed the first screw. take the blades off the clipper then pull the black plastic cover away from the silver section undo the two screws at the top and slide the silver section forwards then lift off the black cover shorten wire by cutting and soldering. T he problem was and allways will be broken wire . Maybe I should stop cutting hair and fix clippers

look if the trimmer is pulling hair, its not lack of oil
its maybe the speed of the trimmer needs to be faster.
its the the plastic flat head skrew on the side.check if the blades separate easiley if theyt do sometimes that makes the trimmer pull hair to.there might be a little plate on the inside of the trimmer and its not holding the blades tight.adjust that not to tight though then the trimmer wont cut
