We purchased our Dyson in 10/04/13, #DA-US-DCC8087A. The spring loaded latch broke on the canister along with the neck is cracked on the vacuum also. Is this something that is covered by warranty.

unlikely that warranty will be for 3 years on a small appliance but contact dyson direct on the phone and ask and get spares from them as well

I have received new power head on my dyson dc29 but it is not working what do I do to install it right

If your power head is electric you likely have an electrical problem you will need to trace, if it is an air driven turbo nozzle your airflow may be restricted. The filters may need replaced.

My dyson just quit working when I plug into electricity it will not come on

This could many things.

In order of ease of checking/testing:

1. Have you checked the fuse in the plug ?
2. It could be a cable fault - do you have a multi-meter and know how to test for continuity ? If not, you'll need help from someone how has/can, if not take your Dyson to a repair shop.
3. It could be a faulty on/off switch - same test criteria as for item 2.
4. It could be a faulty over current/temperature cut-out that safe guards the motor - this is in reality part of the motor so very difficult to replace seperately.
5. It could be a faulty motor - there is no easy way to test a motor but if all the other items above are okay, then it's pretty much a given the motor is finished. Motors can be obtained fairly cheaply but require very good DIY skills and tools to fit.

My brushbar sparked

Hi, The brushbar on a dc24 has a small independent motor. They are quite notorius for burning out. Yours has done so. If your machine is less than 5 year old contact Dyson to come and repair it under your 5 year guarantee.

If however uour machine is out of warranty then you can either replace the motor within the head or order a brand new head.

Dyson slim, all the suction is coming through the hose and not in the power head of the vacuum

This is a very common problem with the DC18s. basicly the carraige assy needs to be replaced. what happens is that there is a valve that is engaged when you recline the vaccum. well when the peice that is broken the valve wont move so it is stuck with constant suction and the hose and will never swich to the cleaner head. You need to take it in to a Dyson Authorized Dealer and have it replaced. if you have your proof of purchase and your within the first 5 years of owning the vacuum it will be covered under warranty. if you dont have your proof of purchase they will not be able to cover it under warranty. it will run you about $100 to $115 to get it replaced.
