You can send it to the canon-service but i think it will be cheaper if you buy a new or used one.

Repair - How can I fix a broken lens/AF/MF?

If you have another lens, try that on the camera to determine if the damage is the lens or the camera. If the lens is damaged, just buy a new one, I would not trust the elements to focus true on a lens that has had an impact severe enough to cause this problem. As this is the standard lens that ships with most Canon Packages, you can likely find a cheap one online.

My cam blurd

If it's a built in camera clean the lens with a Qtip, if it's a plug in USB camera clean it and try rotating the ring around the lens at the front, some cams have adjustable focus and can be changed by accident when handling the camera or cats knocking them off tables.

Lens will not extend when turned on message on screen lens error

Hi,

This error indicate that focusing ring got stuck or jammed due sand, dust or may be due to external shock caused by dropping the device.
  • Try compressed air. With a fine tip blow off gun around lens barrel. It should remove all dust and sand. Turn the camera on this will solve the problem.
  • You can gently bump the camera to try to free the focusing ring.
  • You can try to turn camera ON at the table (facing it to the ceiling), don't put camera down face to the floor when opening.

If motor is running but lens won't retract sometimes lens would slip off with the gear or break off a tooth in the gear when it gets dropped. Try to gently move the lens barrel around with the finger and see if it is moving, but if tooth or gear is broken lens will move once or twice then it will stuck again.

Else your camera need to be disassembled to get at the focusing ring at Service Center.

Thanks and have a nice day

Silver lens shroud fell off and now the lens wont extend out and the display is reading"lens error"

Hi,

As you have dropped your camera due to that lens barrel (focusing ring) is not able extend, Your camera need to be disassembled to get at the focusing ring at Service Center but you can try these solution.

  • What you can try to do is spray some compressed AIR into the lens to try to free up any sand or dust that may have worked its way in. If that doesn't help, you can gently bump the camera to try to free the focusing ring.

or.......
  • You can try to turn camera ON at the table (facing it to the ceiling), don't put camera down face to the floor when opening.
Good luck and have a nice day.

Rating the solution is highly appreciated.

Most likely, the lens movement gears are misaligned. There's also a good chance you misaligned the lens elements by knocking the lens sideways. It is not going to work, since it cannot move the lens to focus or zoom now. Your choices are to repair or replace the camera.

Frame around lens fell off

Do you mean the focussing ring fell off?

It can be reglued with Superglue, but be very careful not to use the glue from the tube or you could get it everywhere. First focus the lens on infinity. This is the furthest back or most withdrawn position of the lens. The infinity marking on the ring will be beside the diamond or dot indicator. Put a little bit of Superglue onto the end of a matchstick, and then use the matchstick to put traces of the Superglue on the lens barrel, exactly where the ring will sit. carefully place the ring on its correct position on the lens barrel.

Just returned from trip to Cuba..most photos taken outside and few inside...all photos were exc. or good except the ones I used with the telephoto feature. Had I left it on the W feature, these photos would have been ok...also make sure the focus ring lens adj. is not on the macro imaging feature..found that focus ring lens setting sometimes moved when I put the camera into its case
