Why can't I use cellular data on my iPad but it's has sim card slot

Did you set up your Ipad with the phone company for a data plan? If you didn't then it will not likely work. They are not a cheap proposition, so if you don't use the cellular data often, then you are better off linking to a phone hotspot to get data.

How do I stop no SIM card coming up on my iPad screen all the time.

This is a bug in iOS 8, and there is no solution for it, but I did find 2 workarounds you can try.
1. Buy an empty SIM card and put it in it. Most companies will give you a free one.

2. This is more complex, and it is from a post I read.

I waited to update my iPad 2 but finally bit the bullet & did the update last week. Lo & behold, I started getting the 'no sim card' popup especially while using the App Store (updating & downloading new apps), settings, & apps that required location based services. I read through this thread & searched elsewhere for a solution. After turning off most location services & going through every app (I have many) the problem still remained. Airplane mode worked but I wanted to see if I could fix the problem. Prior to updsting to iOS 8.1.3 & had 'reset all settings' not erasing data. This morning I decided to do it again. still keeping my data. When my iPad rebooted I got the 'no sim card' message once (which is normal) but so far (fingers crossed) it has not reappeared. I also noticed that it rebooted with location services off which I then re-enabled leaving all the defaults on. I have opened maps, the App Store & settings, along with various other apps & my iPad is behaving nicely. It is also snappier than before especially safari. Maybe there were some cache files or corrupted files leftover from the last install. For anyone still having this problem, give it a try before totally resetting your iPad as new.

Ipad air says Invalid SIM in upper left corner? not sure what it means or to do to fix it

The most common reason for this is that the SIM needs to be taken out and reinserted. I put a link below to show how to do it. What it means is that their is a problem with your SIM card, and it might just be a lousy electrical contact issue, but it could be faulty too! You may have to contact Apple to get a replacement. Also, you must be in a country where that SIM is supported. Please read the following links.

Remove the SIM card from your iPhone or iPad

What is the free imei unlock codes for a forgotten passcode?

There is no such thing as a free imei unlock code. If you need to unlock the sim in your iPad. (imei is connected to they Sim card) you can ask the provider to give you a new sim card with the same number. the new card has a new imei, new pin and new Puk.

How to unlock ipad2 puk code

Your iPad 2 must have 3G, with a sim card. For the sim you need the pin and after 3 misses you need the puk. The puk is on the letter or card that came with the original sim card. On that letter is the pin and puk. sometimes you have to scratch away the metal layer.

If you want to unlock an iPad, with the lock code on, and forgot your pass code you have to enter the correct password that belongs to your Apple ID. It will be partially on the screen. If you really messed up, setting up security, and lost unlock code and your Apple ID password. Only Apple can help. For that you have to take iPad, invoice, Prove of your identity (Passport) to the Apple store and hope they will unlock your iPad. With iOS7 Apple mede a very good security system. And while setting up the iPad and the security, you are warned several times what to do t make sure you and only you could enter the system.
Be aware if Apple does reset your iPad, all data now on the iPad will be lost.

1) you state the problem is with an Apple iPad 32gb Wifi Tablet. You will be unable to put a sim card in as this is not the 3G / 4G version.

2) Refer to the original product documentation.

3) Have you searched the manufacture website? There are online user guides on apple.com.

4) Use a small needle and press it in to the hole on the sim card slot. remove, insert your simcard and insert in to the ipad.
