Epson Dot matrix DFX 8000

Due to printer head firing is not proper.

The Prnter need servicing and once serviced it will be alright.

Sometimes the Printer Ribbon might have not rotating and the print will not be visible on the left and at right side it is bright.

Better consult the local printer hardware enigneer and settle this iseeu.

Put the original and best gsm paper in the printer, when prining job is iniated.

Are the inks that you are using Canon products or aftermarket?

I'm sure you have tried the Deep Cleaning just from what you have posted, but for giggles lets try it again.

Go to your printers properties and try the "Check Nozzle" if the printout still comes out faded or where the grids show missing spots then you will want to try a "Deep Cleaning". If this does not work then theres two possible causes. (1) Your print head could be drying up or (2) the purge unit is not cleaning the print head properly.

To try fixing the first possible cause. You will need to remove the printhead and some warm water or 409 cleaner. Take the ink cartridges out of the printhead and take the printhead over to a trash can and spray the little pads inside the printhead. litley dry off the printhead and replace it in the printer. You will then want to do a Nozzle Check and possibly a printhead cleaning.

If this does not fix the issue then move on to the next possible solution. Turn your printer on and open the cover. With the cover open unplug the printer from the outlet. This will prevent the printer from returning the printhead to is home position so you can try to do a quick clean of the purge unit. Take a cup of warm water and a paper towel. Dip the tip of the paper towel into the water and look inside the printer. The purge unit is on the right side of the printer. You should see a small rectangle area drop about two drops of water onto it and then close the lid to the printer and plug it back in. Turn the printer on and it should cycle the purge unit to **** the water through. and remove any possible clog. Now try printing to the printer once it is ready.

If for some reason neither of this solutions work you might want to try getting another printhead and see if that helps. If you need to go this route search online for a part number of: QY6-0049-000

Best of luck!

Print quality: dark faded, but continuous

Open top cover and remove toner, shake toner cartridge and try a test print. IF image good then problem is low toner level in cartridge.

After changing the print head and setting the Ohm resistance, the left side of the printed labels are faded. I adjusted both head pressure and slid them back and forth but I can't get it to print right....

It's very possible the printhead wasn't installed correctly. It's pretty easy to get it wrong, as there are two pins on the latched printhead bracket that have to fit into two holes on the printhead itself. You have to get the alignment of these pins and holes just perfect before you tighten the screw. You have to make sure the aluminum plate on the printhead is sitting flat against the printer's printhead bracket before you turn the screw on top of the bracket.

Prints faded

Hello mvjv,

To solve the faded prints you need to clean the printhead twice by going to the software and click the "?" mark icon on the upper right corner of the software window and then under General Links select Maintenance then choose Clean Printhead - do it at least thrice to unclog the printhead system. Then try making prints... If still cannot solve call Kodak Technical Support.

I hope I have been some of help.

No printing on right side, I replaced the imaging drum but that did not solve the problem.

There are two possible solutions to this common problem.

1) The Cyan cartridge may not be in 100% of the way. If the handle of the Cyan cartridge prutrudes even slightly, it can obstruct the printhead for the black developer. Remove and reinstall the Cyan cartridge and test.

2) The printhead is dirty, with some toner spillage on the printhead. All new imaging drums also include a new cleaning pad for the cleaning wand.

The cleaning wand is designed to clean toner off of the printhead. you can see this in your printer manual, but basically, just open the front cover, pull the the blue handle on the right side forward ( this opens the access cover for the cleaning wand on the right side of the printer ).

gently pull the cleaning wand out ALL THE WAY, then slide it back in ALL THE WAY. do this several times.

The cleaning wand is intended to travel across the print head in only one direction, which is why you should make sure that it is pulled all the way out.

One of these two solutions should fix your problem. If the problem is resolved, but then reappears after a short time, then you have a defective developer that is leaking toner on the print head. The color of the defective developer can be determined by the color of the cleaning pad after cleaning the printhead as discribed above.

Right side of label faded or blank after replacing printhead

Things to check:

1. Move the pressure arm further towards the outside of the printhead. Adjust if needed using only the minimum pressure required in order to achieve uniform print quality.

2. Inspect the printhead to ensure it has properly engaged the alignment pins. I have had after-market printheads that did not line up correctly and required "surgery" to make them properly seat on the mounting pins.

3. Check for worn platen roller bearings. If they're are sufficiently worn, one side of the platen roller will be slightly lower than the other.

4. Consider replacing the platen roller. They do wear out and require replacement. Zebra part number 40038M IIRC.

5. Check the printhead parallelism adjustment. The procedure is in the maintenance manual.
