Hi there,

First, ensure that you're source is functioning. If it is a tv box, ensure that antenna or cable line is properly connected and have signal.

Then turn ON you TV then press the button encircled in figure below. Press again in an interval of 5 sec until you have selected the right source and see signals come out to you TV.

Weak or No signal is the HDTV over-the-air broadcast signal.
If you are hooking up a cable box - you must change the Signal type from AIR to CABLE in the menu.
If you are using a HDTV converter box - your antenna may not be able to pick up the signal due to you being on the fringe or outside the signal area... and in this case - it would require a Powered DTV antenna.

Thanks for using FixYa - please accept this solution to remove it from the work queue.

The WII will plug in to the COMPONENT RCA ports (Yellow White Red) as you indicated are on the SIDE of the TV.

Then you will use your remote and press INPUT.... to change the input from CATV to INPUT1.

Make sure your cable box doesn't have an internal setting (in the menu) to turn on the RCA outputs.
Most come OFF as a default.

    Thanks

I just bought a Philips Smart WiFi Bluray Player BDP2105F7 and I cannot connect it to my old tv which is a sony triniton, I have image but no sound. There are two outputs on the dvd player but I have...

Your white red yellow cord is a Stereo sound + video cord. The red and the white ends are for sound the yellow end is for video - if your TV is not stereo it may not have the red and white it may only have one in which case you need to find an adapter from stereo to Mono to fit your red/white cable ends into a single connection on the TV. Or you can buy a home theater sound system and it will give the TV its signal and it will keep the stereo signal and broadcast it through the sound system.

We have a Sharp Aquos and a Sony VCR. We can not find anything to instruct us on how to hook it up. Can you instruct us since we don't even know if we have all the proper connection cords?

You need Video and Audio connections. On the back of the VCR you will see RCA connectors typically color coded, Yellow, White, and Red (on some olllldd VCRs you will only have the 2 yellow/white)

Yellow = Composite Video White = Left Audio Red = Right Audio

These need to connect to the input on your TV labeled (colored) the same. You will have many other types of connections on the TV but these only pertain to higher quality video signals.

The cable to connect these is VERY common in any electronic store. They usually come as a single cable that splits out to the 3 RCA connectors on each end.
Find the length you need (3', 6' 12' etc) and BTW don't bother with the "gold plated monster cable" for this type of connection, almost any quality will not be noticed.

I hope this helps,
Magoo

Where do the yellow, red, and white cords connect to on my Proscan 37'' DVD/HDTV

it depends on what signal your sending to the tv.
red and white are usually sound and yellow is picture or AV.
you may need to select the input on your TV to recive a picture. Does this help?

No signal to tv from Xavix

I had bought this item on e-bay. with no documentation (manual) the back had video and left and right audio. RCA plugs. and the only cable supplied with the game was a yellow ,Red, White on both ends cable. pluged it in and nothing. looked at the set up instructions online. and found that quired a 1/8 mini out to yellow red white RCA to TV . I dug one up and presto. problem solved. ( I guess the labeling on the back that had A/V out over the mini port was there for a reason.
