Question about LaCie Design by F. A. Porsche 160 GB Hard Drive
I was watching a movie of my 320g hard drive when it just disconnected now the computer wont reconise it at all the hard drive will bring the blue light on but normally when i plug it in it will flash when it was reading but now it just stays blue without flashing
I had a similar issue with a SATA drive i put into an older p4. I suggest you unhook the drive from the cables and reattach it, just to make sure the connections have not worked loose. If they are tight, then you may want to try a different port on the system board. Since I dont know if it is a SATA or EIDE, I can only assume that, based on size, it is SATA. SATA drives have great performance but cheap data cables. Try a different data cable, or a different sata port. If it is EIDE (40 pins) then make sure the cables are all tight, and please make sure that ANYTIME you work on the computer, you have the power OFF and its UNPLUGGED, so that you dont fry your mainboard. In my own case, the data cable was kinda loose, so it would work loose and drop the drive off the system, forcing me to crash and have to fix the cable and restart. I got a better sata cable and have no trouble.
