ahh the notorious "sim not read" error message
well what you have is a is a faulty contact issue from the phones brass 8 or 10 pin points to the sim card pin contacts inside the phone itself and also too, your service provider has without your knowing it, from time to time have uploaded numerous software data updates to your phone, and often old sim cards, if not replaced occasionally, your sim card has a compatibility issue to the new data being sent to your phone. You basically need a new sim card. Usually and often if the phones has suffered a lot of abuse (from physically dropping to the ground and natural elements like tempertature, rain, exposure to cold and moisture, which is a big culpret) those brass contacts, located inside the phone, that are on the edge of the sim card (when you turn the sim over you see them) get particules in between the contacts causing the notorious "sim not read" or even the notorious " sim not found please insert sim".
open up the back of your phone, look at the slot where you put you sim card, try to elevate it just a little just to make sure the contact point touch the sim card, try to clean your sim card with pensil eraser and wipe it with clean clothe, then insert it and open it..
Factory resetting the phone will do absolutely nothing with this problem
There are 3 causes of Sim Card Registration Failed, when you first turn on the phone, the sim card attempts to connect to the network if it can not do this it gives a message like Sim Card Registration failed.
1, The sim card is turned off (is it Orange) if you have had the sim card for a while and it hasnt been used they will turn it off, you need to contact them from another phone to get it turned on or get a new sim card.
2, The phone has a hardware reception problem, when it attempts to register itself with the network it can not... There is a reception problem and it requires repairs, this isnt really an easy diy job on this handset.
3, The phone is blocked, i.e reported lost or stolen. Some networks when a phone is reported will allow it to get reception but will not let it make calls, however other networks will not give it reception at all and hence you get a Sim Card Registration failed message.
I hope this helps, these are the causes of the message.
You have most likely already checked this, but just in case.....make sure the sim card is full inserted, and inserted in the correct position. (There should be a diagram showing which way to insert the card.
try open ur handset and make the pcb warm with ur hairdryer and fix it again i think it is due 2 moisture and it should work as its not picking simcard.try it and reply me with results.
anyway, probably the sim loss its contact to its sim terminal... try inserting together to your sim a folded paper same size of your sim( just to compress your sim to its rterminals)... be sure not to cover the sim terminals...
