I also had trouble with this. Go to the section on removing the top cover and remove some of those screws at the bottom near the touchpad, then try lifting on the the metal tab.

Please tell me master password key for power-on password of hp compaq nc6220.i have already tried to remove bios battery but i can not remove my power-on password

You would have to perform this in the BIOS ( Basic Input/Output System) Here are the steps:

1. Restart your computer. 2. Enter the BIOS by pressing the designated key (usually F1, F2, or Delete key). You will be able to enter the BIOS by pressing any of those keys..(this is the black screen that appears before your window starts up) 3. Inside BIOS, navigate the "menu" option by using the "arrow keys" 4. Search for "user password, system password, or power-on password" as it may vary depending to your system. It should show you "enabled or Active" and you have an option to "disable it" 5. Make the "disable password" press enter. 6. Click the "Save Changes" or "Save Changes and Exit" option in the system and it should not ask you for a password the next time you turn your computer on.
---for your reference, the command help is shown at the bottom of the BIOS screen which will guide you which keys to use while navigating inside it.

How to remove keyboard

Remove (larger) screws from the underside that have a keyboard icon next to them.

Between some of the f-keys are 4 small black strips, these are the restaining clips; gently push them towards the bottom of the keyboard. Once all 4 have been pushed downwars, lift from just above the f-keys and the keyboard will detach.

Be gentle as the connections between the keyboard and the system board will come away fairly easily and are fiddly (if easy) to put back in place.
