Drops connection after a few hours

It will work good for a few hours, then it drops the connection. I have to manually un-plug the router and hook the cables back up again.

It's not my ISP, as I have an Xbox wired and it is working fine. It's the wireless router that is dropping connection, not ISP. (That's the first thing I checked)

When plugged directly into router works ok. when plugged into our work network it will work ok for a day or two or maybe more then drops out and does not work. The B is blue and network boxes are green but...

The router uses DHCP to get an IP-address from a DHCP-server on your work-network. Each IP-address is valid for 24 hours.
So, your router is not issuing "renew" requests, to be allowed to use the IP-address for the "next" 24 hours.

Also, check that the router's internal clock has the correct date/time.

I'm having a problem with my NETGEAR WGT624v3 router. I have it connected through a SPEEDSTREAM 4200 modem and have experienced no problem with the internet connection. However, after approx. 3 to 4 hours...

yes set the speedstream modem to log in. it is uner advanced, usually 192.168.0.1 address. It is most likely set to "bridged" mode and using the router to login. set login to ppoe on speedstream on one p.c. only 1st. with login ang password filled in and "smart keep alive" on.

Does your modem also drop, or just when you use your router? If it drops when not using a router, your cable company can check your modem for you. They will not help with your router unless you got it from them. See if it stays up when you are plugged in directly to the modem.

Router drops connection

Its your bad luck that u purchased this router. Basically Its a very cheap product from china. It got hot & dies very soon. This is major problem with this model. Company suggesting the firmware upgrade but i didn't find a single solution with that. So the best answer is to replace it with another model.

Internet drops for a second then comes right back

Have you hooked your computer up directly to the source of your internet (such as a cable or DSL modem) and see if you have the same issue?
