Depending on what side of the saw the pull cord is. If its on the right it will be wound clockwise and reverse for the left side with the chain facing away from you of course

im not so sure this will help you, except to laugh , let me just say this i hope not, but this one reminded me of one a guy brought to me one day he said it wouldnt start , when i tried to pull it over , it woulnt budge not an inch , after carefull exam of pull rope , i saw the cord had broken and this guy in a fit of frustration used his daughters jump rope to replace it , thats not gonna work , this guy had over six feet of pink jump rope jammed inside this thing , i dont know how he fit it inside but there it was pink and all , i replaced the cord for him (not pink) but did offer to repaint the case pink , he said great maybe i could get my wife to run it then !! long story short maybe the cord reel inside is rubbing on something like a loose bolt or screw they do come loose lots of times ya know

Replace Pull cord poulan p3500

Hook the cord into the small cut a way in the side of the pulley, now wind the pulley in a clockwse direction you should feel the the spring tention increasing, once there is adiquate tention unhook the rope from the pulley and allow the spring to wind the pulley back and pull the cord in, do not forget to replace the screw and plate that secures the pulley as it appears to be missing on your video.

The pull start on my line trimmer has pulled out i need to know what way the main shaft comes off to remove the casing so i can refit the starting line.

You should not have to remove the shaft to replace the pull cord on a trimmer, none that I know of anyway. On most models, the pull cord is in a small housing that is bolted to the side of the engine. Remove the housing and your there. What model trimmer do you have?

My dryer would not run when I pulled the knob to start. I took the power cord out of the wall outlet. When I replace the cord into the outlet and pulled the knob the outlet sparked.

you most likely have a loose wire inside that wall outlet. use an extension cord to plug your dryer into another outlet that you know works properly and see it your dryer will work on that power source. If it does, just replace the receptacle in that wall outlet. If the dryer still wont run, then you know you have a problem with the dryer itself. If that is the case get back and I can talk you through solving that problem also.

Replace pull cord

The pull cord works by wrapping around a coil that holds the line, and
this works by a spring, and there are 4 bearings in a clutch that help it to engage. Through wear and tear this can get to where it just doesn't work well anymore and needs cleaned. Remove the four screws that attach the motor to the clutch assembly. This will give access to the pull cord. Remove and be careful for the spring likes to shoot out when you remove the 4 tabs that hold the spool in. Replace the cord by running one end through the hole that the old cord is in. You then tie a tight knot in the line, you will see this when you remove the old cord. While there I would clean, lubricate, reinstall, the spring, and you should be back to trimming

Pull cord

Yes. Most any hardware store can sell you a new cord. If you want to replace both the cord and the pull mechanism you may have to contact a dealer.
