The only fix is a bigger heavier battery. You might be able to find a back pack battery to plug in. If you know a tech, ask him if he can make you one. It is quite easy for a tech, especially if you are tolerant of aesthetics. Techies and not particularly aesthetics aware, on the average.

Basically, he will find a larger battery (more ampere hours) of maybe a better type (Lithium vice Nicad say) and then rig up a back pack and connector wire. It will plug into the V6 normally so will need to find a connector or ad his own to the V6.

You might contact the manufacture for an "extended rang battery". You might be able to add a cord/charger wire, but this defeats the cordless nature you probably want. Lithium batteries are much better than Nicad or Nimetel Hybrids but also much more expensive.

What is the difference between the v6 fluffy and the v6 absolute?

The Dyson V6 Fluffy has a similar design and the digital motor V6 technology but comes with a different type of cleaner head, one that has a full-width soft nylon roller with carbon fibre filaments.
This picks up large debris, while the carbon fibre filaments pick up fine dust. It "sucks up as much dust as even a corded vacuum," claims Dyson.
One of the main differences between the Fluffy and the top-of-the-line Absolute is that it doesn't have the post-motor filtration as the more expensive model, but will still remove pet hair and ground in-dirt.

My Dyson V6 absolute is pulsating when I pull the trigger. I have cleaned the canister and checked for obstructions. I also cleaned the top filter.

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

There are a number of reasons why your Dyson cleaner is pulsating off and on. First, it maybe due to a battery of the unit. Make sure that the power cable is properly plug to the power and seated properly from the unit while charging. If you find that the battery isn't charging at all, you may need to replace the battery. Second is to check the MAX button of your cleaner. If the button lights up and flashes when your Dyson keeps on pulsating, press and hold the power button and depress the MAX button to turn off the function. You may need to do it for a few times to get the hang of it. Third is to check for any blockages or clogs in the attachments. Look down through the tube and check to see if there are clogs on the sweeper end or if the roller is tangled up in fibers. Clean the roller brush are if it it's necessary. You may need to empty the dust bin of your unit as debris can build up in hard to reach places. Lastly, cleaning the filters may fix the pulsating of your cleaner. Remove the filter and rinse it with cold water and air dry it for 12 hours. Don't use detergent when washing your filters. If the pulsating doesn't go with the given quick fix, I suggest to contact Dyson for further assistance on this.

Hi, I have a dyson v6 absolute (UK version), which has a direct drive cleaner head. Will a soft roller head (aka fluffy head) fit and work on this machine?

Hi, it's Allan from Dyson.

I'm sorry we haven't been in touch about this sooner.

It depends where you are.

For example, the UK V6 Absolute has not been tested with the soft roller head and it will not fit.

I would recommend contacting Dyson directly in your region to discuss this further.

Please give the Dyson Helpline a call on 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA), 0800 298 0298 (UK). Our experts will be happy to talk you through some further diagnostic checks when you have your machine easily to hand.

Best wishes,

Allan
