Hi Jessica.

You have you graphics card resolution set too high. I assume you are using some version of Windows. If so, right click the desktop and left click properties (Windows XP), click the advanced tab and reduce the slider to 1024 x 768 and apply the settings. If using Vista or Windows-7, right click desktop and left click screen resolution and select the above setting. This shoud correct the panning issue and give you your entire screen back. Hope this helps and good luck.

Hooking laptop to tv says invalid format on my

After it is all hooked up. You must go to main computer screen, then right-click on main windows screen,
You will see box #1 and box#2
Take the #2 box, click and hold mouse button and drag to the Left Side of #1 and let go of mouse. Get it as closely matched up to the #1 box without crisscrossing them. Just set it directly next to the box.
Then click enable this monitor and/or apply button.
Then ok,
Now your monitiors should all automatically connect and turn on.

Small green line on right side of screen

This is an easy fix using the Philips remote control that came with your tv. On the center of the remote is a dial that has left right up down controls. Stand in front of the tv and using those controls you can recenter the screen and get rid fo the green line. I had same problem when we hooked up hd satellite reciver to philips 37 plasma

I connected my hp laptop to my pioneer plasma via svga cables. When i select my pc input using my tv remote it says "plasma display no input signal". How do I fix this?

Hello. You have to go into your Display Settings, in your HP Laptop, and chose the Dual Screen/Monitor Setting & make sure you check the "Extend my Windows Desktop onto this Monitor" Box. If you are trying to view your Internet Browser on your TV - you will need to Click on and Drag your Browser to the Right... of off your Laptop Screen and onto your TV Screen. This will take care of your problem!

Connect tv to computer

Be sure to enable the second screen through the windows display settings. Right click on the desktop background and select personalize (VIsta) or Properties (XP). Click on the settings menu (lower down on Vista, a tab on the right for XP) and look at the monitor setup. After you are connected via cable to the TV, go there, click on the second screen and select "enable this monitor", "extend desktop onto this monitor" or something of the like. Oftentimes it will not do it if you are not already physically plugged in so ensure that you do that first.

Tried hooking the computer to an external monitor. Got the welcome screen ok, then it lost sync and went black. Tried it on another plasma; same result. SVGA cable connection.

Hi there. When you connect an external display, your laptop clones your desktop to the external display, including resolution settings. First you need to check what resolution settings the plasma can display. If your laptop is set to a resolution that the external monitor can't display, then you will lose the display once the resolution settings are loaded. You can change the laptop resolution in your Display Settings.

If you don't know what settings the external monitor can display, just open your Display Settings and set your laptop resolution to 1024x768. Almost all new monitor/tv's can display it. Connect your external display, and see what happens. If it works, but the resolution doesn't look right, then just move the resolution along one more, until you find one you're comfortable with.

N.B. Some monitors/tv's "jump" resolutions. i.e. the monitor can display 1024x768, 1300x768, but not 1280x800.

Another thing to remember is that if you are running Windows Vista, you may need to check that the Windows Mobility Center recognises the external display that you are trying to use. You can find Windows Mobility Center by clicking Control Panel, then Mobile PC. It should now be listed on the screen.

Let me know how it goes, and if it works, please rate.

Sony PFM-42B1 with black bar in 720p

yes, stop using a plasma TV as a computer monitor. Using the TV this way is an invitation to phosphur burn which these are very prone to. The issue you describe is due to the limitations of the TVs scaler circuit to properly center the image in 720P.

Thin red line in middle of screen on nec 42 inch plasma monitor

I had the same problem -red, vertical bars along the right side of my Samsung 42" Plasma- and this is what fixed it: Removed unterminated cable.
I had hooked up an HD video camera to the set about two weeks ago. While I disconnected the camera I left the other end of the connector cable plugged into the T.V.. As I've since learned from friends who work in television, this is what's called an "unterminated cable" -meaning one end is unconnected. It can lead to problems with electrical interference and appears to have been the problem in this case; When I disconnected this cable from the T.V. the red bars went away.
So, check your cables. Make sure everything is properly connected and get rid of anything that might be picking up interference.
