Cleaning Internal Connections

I have seen more than one suggestion regarding cleaning internal cable connections to fix known problems. Since I am very handy at such things I would like to do my own repair on my AG-DVC7 camera but cannot locate a service manual online for download. If anyone has experience in the proper disassembly method on this camera I would greatly appreciate some hints on how to proceed. I'd much prefer to know exactly how to open this thing up the right way without having to figure it out on-the-fly!

I am a video engineer (EE). I soaked the flexible cable with 90% isopropyl alcohol applied with an eye dropper where the ribbon cable goes into the reel table / spindles. Also, where they make a right angle to connector points. This has worked for a year so far.

Actually I got it done this evening when I got home. I carefully started pulling screws that appeared to hold the left case side on, and I got lucky and got all the correct ones on the first try. After removing and reseating all of the ribbon cables the camera works perfectly again!

this may caused by
  • Dirty Lens

  • Faulty Internal Mechanisms

  • Corrupted Data transfer

  • Faulty Internal Mechanisms - all internal movements are powered by a small electrical motors and belts. If any of these are not working as it would, then Drive may not work as expected. You may need a expert hands to clear this problem.

  • Corrupted Data Transfer - If all the internal parts are working properly but data cable is not connected properly, then too drive may not read any discs. you can reconnect the cables.

Intermmitant transmission on a Motorola xtni radio

Intermittent transmit can be caused by:

1) Bad or poorly charged battery. (try a known good battery and see if the problem clears up)
2) Poor connection to the battery. (clean all contacts with a pencil eraser)
3) Bad PTT internal button, radio would need repair.
4) Bad antenna. Check for breaks in the rubber covering.
5) Other internal problems requiring repair.

Best regards.

Hi, My Seagate 500 GB Internal hard disk (Barracuda 7200.11) suddenly became non responsive (not detected by BIOS), Is there a way to make it responsive?

Please check the internal connection of your motherboard to your hard drive. Try reconnecting the cable connecting the hard drive to the motherboard. It usually fixes issues with undetected devices.

Btw, this model has a known issue, turns bad easily turns bad.

Just a suggestion, try using different models or a different brand.

Hope this helps! :D

White screen

First, always try it on multiple types of computers (different video cards), and multiple cables. Then, open it up and make sure the internal connections are solid. Finally, consider putting in a new inverter. This has been known to fix all-black and all-white monitor problems.
