Re: camera picture has lines no monitor no clear

First some quick information on your UTP Devices...
Twisted Sender is recommended for use with unshielded twisted pair (UTP) wiring. The systems will operate over wire gauges from 26 AWG through 12 AWG but are optimized for 24 AWG. Category 2, 3, 4 or 5 cable may be used. Individually shielded pairs should be avoided as they drastically reduce the operating range of the systems. Multi-pair cable with an overall shield is acceptable (but do not use the shield). Video can be operated in the same communication cable coexistent with telephone, computer, control signals, power voltages and other video signals. While video may be routed through telephone punch-down block terminals, any bridge-taps, also called T-taps and any resistive, capacitive or inductive devices MUST BE removed from the pair. Did you do this on the existing phone line?

What you are seeing is a ground loop. So that tells me there is something along your cable run that is changing the ground potential. (difference between your cameras’s ground and your DVR’s ground) I would check your phone line for bad connections and to make sure you don’t have any resistive capacitive or inductive devices still connected. Or you can use a GIT100 that Pelco (800) 289-9100

May be bad connection or need larger gauge wire.

I have trouble with my PV-1000 DVR

Things to consider.
If using a VOIP system (via router) please consult your provider for the port(s) you should have open.
Some features are enabled on the system management page.
If you are using a tradition phone line, first consult your manual then your provider.
Hope this helps

Screen wont show cameras or record

Are you pressing menu button on the monitor or the DVR?
Your problem may not be the cameras, but between the DVR and the monitor. Found this on page Eng-19 of the user manual which I found on
This monitor was set to password lock when you purchase a new set. Therefore, you must first enter a 4 digit password to activate the On Screen Display... the default password is 4321. Not sure if that helps.

I have a sentient cctv dvr from Maplin I can view it on my phone at home which is fine I wanted to know if I can view camera footage when I'm not at home etc. at work

Yes you can definitely view your CCTV footage on your mobile phone at your work via internet. Sentient CCTV DVR basically is a night vision camera. You must know the IP of the camera and IP Video server. Connecting your phone to CCTV camera via the protocol you can view the CCTV footage's in your phone. Night vision cameras are used for surveillance purpose. I would prefer cctv camera with ir illuminator for good image quality in the night time that will clear footage quality in my phone.
Recently many new applications have also being launched by security cameras with a view to solve problem you mentioned.

Picture was fine on all 4 cameras then it lost color and started rolling on the monitor .

You have the wrong settings on the DVR, go to DVR menu system or camera settings and change the setting from PAL to NTSC.

I have a Sentient CCTV System and now all the screens on the monitor have lines going across them as if there is some sort of interference, do you know how to stop this ?

Look for Totally tight cable connections. A break in the grounding causes the interference, usually. It only takes a slight loose connection to have issues.

Channel 3/Camera 3 not displaying properly

try swapping the cam inputs first to rule out the unit, if not the camera may be faulty or needs setting up properly with a focus adapter, or the lens could need setting up!
when CCTV company's set up these systems they have all the equipment to plug in and focus auomatically etc..
Hope this helps!
Try looking at (test equipment) section.

I bought a CCTV system for a school but I have some electric problem that the image looks like it's flashing? what is the problem since Iam new to this. IT's like it has brightness

Line loss from the camera to the DVR or monitor and ground loops are the most common problems. If you only see black and white from a color camera, it typically means the cable from the camera to the DVR is too long and/or has high loss caused by a poor BNC connector.

Excessive brightness can mean the video signal from the camera is too strong. This can be caused by an impedance mismatch from using the wrong type of video coax (cabling).

Additionally, a camera power supply plugged into a different electrical circuit (not the same outlet as the DVR or montior) can cause ground loop problems that can affect the video quality.
