Charging port doesnt work

If your laptop charger seems broken, it's most likely because the battery will not charge. You plug in the cord, the lights come on, but the charging light doesn't change or blinks repeatedly. When you remove the power cord, the laptop shuts off instantly due to the depleted battery. There's more than one cause for this, and it's not always a broken charger.

Check the connection between the charger and the laptop. It should fit firmly in the DC jack without wiggling. If it is loose, use electrical tape to hold it in place so the charger can receive power. This is a temporary fix, however, because a faulty connection can create sparks and cause a fire or injury. A loose connection will just get worse over time, so have it sent to a DC jack specialist as soon as possible. Turn off the laptop and flip it upside down. Locate the latch that secures the battery and slide open. The battery should pop out; give it a tug if it doesn't. Apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol (Methylated Spirits)to the tip of a cotton swab and use it to clean the battery's connectors. Dirt can build up and interfere with the connection, giving the appearance of a broken charger. Let the alcohol dry completely and re-insert the battery. Slide the latch to secure it and plug in the power cord to test it. See if the laptop powers on with the charger only and battery removed. If it does, the battery is the likely culprit and should be replaced. If the charger is truly broken, the only thing to do is to replace it or the power cord attached to it. Look on the bottom and write down the part number. Call the laptop manufacturer for a replacement charger or search for the part number on eBay. If you purchase from anyone other than the original manufacturer, ask for genuine parts to reduce the possibility of problems. Troubleshoot Mag Safe adaptors

Oven bake element does not work after replacing fridgidaire

it could have a burned off terminal on the element(not likely as you saw them during new element install) or it could be a defective relay on the control board where you set the oven temperature, one side of the element is always at 120 volts from the power cord, the other side of the element is controlled on and off by the control board

Laptop cannot power on

Determine if it is a bad battery, power cord, or power supply (on the motherboard)

remove the battery and try to power on the machine with the power cord plugged in. If it powers on with the battery out, you likely have a bad battery.

If not, you could have a bad power brick/cord...if you have a friend with the same type of laptop, or a spare power cord for it...try that...if that doesnt work, you likely have a problem with the power source on the motherboard, or its connection to the motherboard (like a broken solder point...this can happen a lot if the cord does not fit snugly into the power input on the laptop and has been jiggled)...that is the worst case scenario, because generally it means a motherboard replacement, which probably would cost more than a new laptop.

It doesnt heat up the motor runs but it blows cool air it is also electric

Disconnect the entire venting duct work and clean if necessary. If clogged full of lint in one area the sensor prevents the burner to produce any heat. If clear throughout the moister control sensor is at fault

I have a DX 6700 that does not come on when plugged into the outlet.

Either the wiring to AC power line is broken or the heating element is broken.

The heating element is tested taking apart the iron, disconnecting element contact, and reading impedance on element contact with a multimeter set at Rx1. If the element has no continuity (circuit open), then the element must be replaced.

If the power cord is fused (like for example in UK), check also the fuse in the power cord, try replacing it.

Hp compaq nx7400 - battery died and power cord will not turn comp

Do you have another power cord to check? Most places like bestbuy is willing to let you test a universal power cord for your type of laptop before you buy. Usually in your case, the power cord or connector has gone bad. If you test the laptop at the store and it doesnt work then its your connector but if it works. you could consider buying that power cord.

Power issue

The power cord might be bent or screwed up. Or option two, the actual power connection in your laptop (i.e. the place where you plug in the cord to the laptop) could be broken on the inside.

Worse case scenario, it could be both.

If it is just the laptop cord, try another connection cord that will plug into your laptop. If it works, buy a universal adapter.

If it doesn't work, and you notice that when you plug it in to the laptop, it kind of wiggles around a bit or seems loose on the "inside" of the laptop ... you might need to take it in to a shop to have a new power connector sodered into place in your laptop.

Best of luck.
