There are some possibilities. One, your speaker may be blown or disconnected. Make sure the wiring is still connected to the speaker and if you have one, try measuring the resistance(impedance) of the speaker with a volt ohm meter.Do this unplugged from current and disconnect one of the wires from the speaker or you will get a reading from the output stage. Two if there is a heaphone or line out jack it may have become faulty. If you have sound with the headphones plugged in your amp is still producing sound. Some jacks are designed to interrupt the signal to the speakers allowing you to practice without bothering anyone. If your amp has that feature and you still have sound with the headphones and your speaker tests OK then your problem is the jack. Hope this helps.

maybe too late but am currently repairing amp with same prob and the RW5W in the R-15 spot on board is loose and needs to be soldered. lucky find by the kid who owned it who started poking around and that was the 1st place he touched.

Marshall Amplification Marshall MG2FX Guitar Combo Amp power turns on but no sound

Hi!
At this point, I would just take it to a tech rather than poke around in it. It sounds like the power section is the problem as you have guessed, but without the technical knowledge you'd be shooting in the dark. That particular amp is right on the line of being expensive enough that would be worth repairing, but you might do just as wel to check Ebay for another used one.
Good Luck!

My Marshall 250dfx has stopped working, there is power but nothing is coming out. No crackiling before, one min it was fine, the next it stopped.. Help!!

try another speaker or test the speakers on another amp. if the speakers are working then it's your amp . check out the output ic's. they maybe blown.

I run a pod HD 500 into the amp and It breaks up, like there is a blown speaker sometimes.

The Marshall is a super clean acoustic amp.

The POD is overloading the amp.

Try the electric guitar input and keep the gain on the amp down, keep the EQ level and use the POD and the end volume to adjust the final volume.

The normal inputs is for a low output acoustic pickup - the POD is a high output electronic source.

Start with the Marshall gains low and get the clean sound good, then work on the gritty sound.

The amp is voiced for a sweet clean sound - if you want grit'n'ball change to a 50w Marshall valve head and a 4 X 12 cabinet.

Marshall AVT20X hums and no sound from the input jack (speaker voltage during humming is 13vDC)

Likely one half of the full-wave rectifier has failed. Take in for repair. Sometimes output amp shorts to one power rail causing this. DO NOT continue to operate this until repaired as it will destroy the speaker!!!

Hiwhat is the best way to connect my DigiTech RP10 to my Marshall MA100H Guitar Amplifier

Read your manuals for both pieces of gear carefully first. You only have one amp so you won't be able to take advantage of all the FX on the Digitech as a lot of them are designed for stereo. The Digitech manual shows guitar into the Digitech and output from the Digitech into input of any guitar amp. Since you have a Marshall and can already get some great sounds by running your guitar straight into the Marshalls input, you would probably be better off using your Digitech in the FX loop. Run a guitar cord out of the send on the loop into the input of the Digitech and a guitar cord out of the left / mono output jack on the Digitech into the effects return jack on the Marshall. Start out with the effects level on the Marshall all the way down. Do the same with the Digitech with both the input and output levels. (Read the manual carefully) I think the choice of the Digitech isn't that great because it is already trying to reproduce a lot of what you can already get with just your Marshall but with a little experimentation and some careful adjustments you should be able to add to the sound of the Marshall. Hope this helps.

Ive just purchased a marshall mg250dfx amp and when i play the volume cuts down low and then back up again like its fading in and out every so often

Since you just purchased this, verify that your guitar and cables are good on another amp and if they are good, then exercise your warranty on the Marshall.

Connectors and cables for guitars are chronic problems so verify they are good to avoid looking foolish.

I have a Marshall guitar amplifier model MG50DFX, and with the volume and gain controls up all the way, there is very little volume. Is it the audio output IC?

I have the same problem. It would appear that this particular series of Marshall amps have a "bug" in them. There are at least 10 other MG50DFX owners, some here at Fixya, others at Harmony Central that have the same problem. Check out the other replies to this problem here at Fixya. I'm gonna try spraying the jacks and pots with a good cleaner. Then, I'm gonna try inserting a patch cable between the FX in and out. This seems to produce sound according to the other replies here at Fixya. Although this may not fix your amp, or mine, for that matter...I'm gonna try everything I can before I have to send it off for repairs.
