Sounds like the color wheel as it can almost sound like a whirling siren or a loud screeching sound

Have sound no picture lamp does not appear to be bad when looking at it yellow light blinks the shuts off tv then tries to start and can hear sound but no picture it will keep doing this till i turn the tv...

listen for the colorwheel noise
you'll recall hearing it "wind up" as the tv came on
many of these will go bad and then it will never fire the lamp because the colorwheel doesn't get up to speed

if you don't hear it, suspect the wheel, its hard to get since toshiba never had it as a seperate part

if you do hear it, its probably a bad lamp driver, but unlikely

let the tv go and go, it will try like 7 or 8 times and then eventually spit out an error. your user manual has the error codes, it will tell you if its the colorwheel i belive.

let me know if you need further assistance

The picture come on then goes black and then the television turns off. I thought it might be a bulb problem (4 years old). So I bought a new bulb, seemed to work and then began to go black again with all 3...

when the colorwheels start to go bad this is the symtom that shows up. try this listen carefully to the rear of the tv near the lamp door. as you turn off the tv if you hear a slight grinding noise as the colorwheel slows down that means the bearings inside the colorwheel are dry and you will need to replace the colorwheel.

When I try to cut on the TV all 3 indicator light start to blink.

listen to the tv from the rear you should hear a slight wind up of the colorwheel just after the power button is pressed. after that the lamp ballast should attempt to start the lamp . if the lamp is bad you will hear a buzzing and see no light coming from the lamp door. if you dont hear that winding up of the colorwheel its bad and needs to be replaced

No picture, siren type noise as restarting

My Toshiba dlp 62hm116 was used for 3 months then stored for 2 years, I turned it on yesterday and it makes a loud grinding noise which I think is probably from the exhaust fan area and the picture is black except white at both vertical sides. It worked fine the last time I used it 2 years ago. Any ideas?

When I turn it on I get a buzzing whine, picture is fine, and now noise has a rattle to it. Would this be the color wheel or maybe the cooling fan?

could be either. remove the lamp. you'll see on the lamp door a plastic protrusion. this is to press the door switch. find that switch and hold it in with a screwdriver. now turn the projector on and look inside the lamp housing in the direction that the lamp would be pointing. do you see the colorwheel spin? it should spin with a high-pitched whir. if you hear the bad noise when it starts up, replace the colorwheel. otherwise, locate the bad fan and replace it.
