Make sure your ppm is at least 3000 low salt may not trigger an alarm but is not sufficient for generating chlorine

also make sure you are running the generator for at least 4-6 hours to give the chlorine time to register

the system itself blows out very minute amounts of chlorine but build up after hours of being on

Salt water system light green, no error code, timer counts down... but no chlorine... Help!

There is a small wire mesh inside the unit that measures the chlorine/salt ratio. If it is a few years old it will have **** and calcium buildup. Take the end off, and clean the mesh.

24' X 52" intex pool, I am having trouble with my cholinator not producing chlorine in the water. there are no signals or lights flashing. but when I test for the free chlorine on the strips is do

If you can remove your generator try and bench test it. Fill with pool water and do a chlorine test. Run the generator for a few minutes, unit should produce bubbles when the cells are turned on. Run another chlorine test and make sure it is higher than original test. You should also test your combined chlorines to make sure you don't have excess chloramines in the water. Also check for any buildup on the generator plates which should be acid washed, and verify salt concentration.

The intex system light is green ,but when i test water no free chlorine is registered

I have an 18 X 33 X 48" oval pool (14000) gallons and I run my pump in the summer months at 10 to 12 hrs and chlorinator at 8 to 10 hrs of those pump hrs and hit a chlorine level at 2.0 to 2.5 ppm.. Green chlorine light means you are generating, it does not mean you have the correct level.. Increase your cycle time and check after 3 days... Please post a comment if this helps! Good luck,,

Hello,
First of all green water can arrise from a lot of different situation.
Low chlorine is one of them coupled with the crappy filter that comes with the intex pools it does not filter enough.

Start with getting your salt level to 3000ppm
any lower than 2700 and you will not generate enough chlorine and any higher than 3500 and you could go cloudy or trigger high salt alarms

you need to get the salt test kit that reads in #'s not color the color ones has to much of a variance
once your salt is at 3000 clean your cell then filter filter filter

I run my filter 24/7 if it is not generating chlorine I am filtering.

Clean your cartridge every few days
I have had the same 2 cartridges for this being my 4th season and have never been green or replaced the filters.
Also I reccomend a non foaming algecide

Just follow directions on bottle

Intex salt water chlorinator 56602

Hello,
First of all 91 is low salt content not too much

Are you checking your salt level with a test strip
You need to be at 3000ppm anything under 2800ppm can trigger an alarm and not produce enough chlorine.
Same thing if you are over 3600ppm
all manuals just give you an amount to start with but it is up to you to fine tune it

After adjustments you need to filter only for 24 hours before trying to generate chlorine

WHAT DOES IT MEAN IF THE GREEN LIGHT IS NOT ON? DOES THE SYSTEM REST AFTER THE TIME HAS RUN OUT, MY SYSTEM HAS 88 DISPLAYED

88 means you are filtering alone no chlorine
Once the generator is set it will run its time like 1-12 hours depending on what you set it at
After this time it will flash 93 meaning it is getting ready for sleep mode eventually it will shut that down and then turn back on at the same time you programed it the time before

There are 2 green lights
top one is that you are filtering
second one comes on about 2-10 minutes after you set the generator time this shows you are producing salt

Intex system not giving chlorine, no errors but no green light

I found I had the same problem. I would set the hours, it would count them down but the green light would NOT come on indicating it was producing chlorine, yet the sleep light would light up after the count down so I knew the light was working. I checked my salt, made adjustments, had to do shock treatments to keep it clean. Today I  found out that the manual is incorrect in how it says to set it. After you set the hours, instead of pushing both the arrows at the same time until it beeps, push the down button until it beeps, and then the up button until it beeps. For 2 months I have fussed with this system, and finally the green light came on and my test strips indicate it is producing chlorine. Yeah! To bad intex does not seem to mention this on their web site.
Good Luck

I have an intex chlorinator and an intex 24' x 48" round pool. I added only 250 lbs of salt, but the table said 290 lbs. I never got a "low salt" reading. When the water level got low I added water and...

high chlorine can cause problems too it will give false readings for your ph and alkalinity.
The most important thing to remeber is that there is a sequence to follow.
First buy a test kit for salt about 11 bucks for 10 tests. you need to have the ppm's at 3000
if it is to high drain 20% water re-fill and filter/curculate for 6 hours then test again. once at 3000 then go for your chlorine it should be between 1.0 and 1.5 with a test kit now with those 2 in line go for ph adjustment ph should be as close 2 7.6 as possible. Ph will cause more problems like cloudy water or algea more than anything else.
another thing you need to realize is that the intex salt system sucks. Once you set it for the # of hours to chlorinate you are basically guessing as to what is needed. Yes there is a guidence chart as to hours to run but it is over kill and lets too much chlorine be generated start with 3-4 hours of generating but remember also that at 4 hours generating that is nowhere near enough filtering
you will need to shut power off get it out of sleep mode and continue to filter
on avberage a pool should be turned over 3 times a day my pool 7000gl and the 2000gph all in one intex salt pump needs run at least 10 hours a day alone without the chlorinator
my pool only 18' so with your total gallons it will be longer
one last thing to consider is that when in chlorine generating mode the filter slows down because of all the electronics. You can not hear it happen but if you put your hand in front of the discharge you can tell
