My pc started up and got stuck on a black screen. PowerSpec 7501

My pc started up and got stuck on a black screen. I rebooted in safe mode and it says, missing windows/system file... cannot load windows.
Microcenter techs said hard drive is bad, which is BS since i bought it new in Feb 09! They ripped me off! what is the pc problem and how do i fix it on a powerspec 7501 model?

The pc had no problems, no viruses, running mcaffee security suite. All is good till i restarted it this morning and boom its dead.

If you have windows xp disk then you can fix bs.

When you power up the computer pressF2 or "del" key to enter in bios then go to boot option then set cd or dvd rom as first boot device then save settings and exit.

then put your cd or dvd disk into rom then it boot with it .
Then foolow the procedure

Hi,
Well you should reinstall the windows. As youa re saying that there are no viruses as you have scanned by Mccaffe but not all the viruresare identified by the anti virus. Some viurs has corrupted your system files so i think you should re-install the Windows.

Thanks & Regards!

Black screen says multi(0) disk(0) rdisk(0) partition(2)\WINDOWS\system32

So far I see no problem. For some reason. you chose to boot Windows in safe mode. During that boot mode, the screen goes black and starts displaying lines of text detailling all the drivers it is loading. At the end of the process Windows will run in safe mode.
Try rebooting normally or rebooting to the last good configuration that worked.
If there are problems please be more specific.

Looking over at crucial.com it says that your A30 can use PC2700 and PC3200 DDR. Maybe go other there and see if your new ram matches what they sell. I know it's not much but maybe a start.

I change my screen resolution to the highest setting and my screen become blank (black with blue screen in the middle). I cannot change the resolution again because the screen is blank.

Try to restart the computer in safe mode. At start up press F8 key like your are trying to get the computers attention. You should get a start up menu. Chose Safe Mode. Once in safe mode reset the screen resolution to is lowest basic setting and reboot. See if this will help. Do you have a good antivirus program. While in safe mode run a scan also. Hope this helps Fixya up.

When I turn on my computer it goes to either choosing safe mode,

There are many reason for a system goes to safe mode directly.here is the solution to solve the issue

Follow the steps:

Immediately begin tapping the "F8" key when the reboot sequence begins (make sure your "F Lock" key is activated.) Once the black "safe mode" screen appears, then first try selecting the option "Start Windows Normally" using your mouse or keyboard up and down keys. Allow Windows to boot, log into your profile and wait for the program to fully configure. Once that is completed, go to the "Start" button and select "reboot." If all is well, the "safe mode" will not reappear.

If that fails, then repeat the reboot sequence -- tapping the "F8" key repeatedly -- and when "safe mode" reappears, choose the "Last Known Good Configuration" selection and allow it to go through the same sequence as in the above paragraph.

If the above does not work and your system continues to first boot into "safe mode" it is possible that a setting in the boot configuration file is checked.

For that go to start -> RUN and Type in "msconfig" in the provided box and hit "enter." The "System Configuration Utility" will appear. Using your mouse or right arrow key, select the "BOOT.INI" tab. Look for the "boot options" section and the "SAFEBOOT" selection box. If it is checked, uncheck it, select the "Apply" button and then "OK."
Go to the "Start" button and select "reboot" and your machine should now boot directly into Windows.

Unplugging all unnecessary devices such as printers, network cable, usb devices etc. and see if anything changes. Try rebooting it in Safe Mode:

To go into safe mode -- Press F8 key as soon as the pc restarts.

(You will have do again if pc starts in normal mode.)

You would see a black screen as soon as you hit f8.

Select Safe mode

On the black screen >> select the option that says

Reboot into Safe Mode by repeatingly tapping on F8 while in process of rebooting and then select "last known good configuration". If that fails reboot again to safe mode and select safe mode with command prompt and in the command prompt type "chkdsk /f /r " <enter>

If that doesnt work do place your Windows CD into the Cd-Rom, reboot and select option "Repair"
