The descale cycle on the Saeco Molito cannot be extended or programmed for a longer cycle. The frequency of descaling is based on the amount of usage and water hardness, and the machine is designed to prompt for descaling when it's necessary to maintain the machine's performance and longevity. It's important to follow the recommended descaling frequency to prevent damage to the machine and ensure optimal performance. If you're finding that the machine is prompting for descaling too frequently, you may want to consider using a water softener or changing the type of water you're using to reduce the build-up of minerals in the machine.
If the unit isn't that old try using vinegar straight in the machine run it though more than once if necessary. The problem is that the little boiler inside builds up with calcium and scale from water that is too alkaline or hard. Once you have run the vinegar through a few times then run water through 4 or 5 times so you don't get the taste of the vinegar.
The removable drip tray inside the front of the machine has two rubber inserts on the back side and the rubber has come away from the plastic causing a false leak. You will need to order a new one or fix the existing one.
hi there, the small flakes are bits of lime scale from your boiler system, to fix/ reduce flakes/particles complete a de-scale cycle on your machine using de-scaler. water hardness- set on 1 will change the length of time before it will ask you to de-scale the machine. Note- hardness 1 is the max time length. hope this helps

Approximately every 3 months (depending on your use and the water hardness), clean the machine with natural citric acid based decalcifying agent. 1. Add a descaling solution into the water reservoir. Mix thoroughly to dissolve (use warm water for better results). 2. Remove the filter holder and place a cup under the group head and another cup, or other container, under the steam wand to catch cleaning solution. 3. Turn espresso machine on, turn coffee pump on and run approximately 8 oz. of solution through the brew head. Turn machine off and let the machine sit for 15 minutes. 4.Run approximately 8 oz. through the steam wand, and again, turn machine off and let sit for 15 minutes. Repeat by allowing solution to run alternately through the steam wand and brew head. Turn espresso machine off after each cycle. Repeat process until solution has been run through. 5. Do not leave espresso machine on. Do not wait for the ready light to come on. Do not use the steam switch during this process. Do not allow reservoir to run empty! 6. Rinse reservoir thoroughly with fresh water. Refill reservoir with fresh water. Run half a tank of fresh water through group head, alternating between group head and steam wand.
HI
Descaler is 100% acid and straight vinegar is 5% and descaler has no taste. Vinegar is not recommended by any manufacturer. If scale has built up that heavy, you had your water hardness set to low which most everyone does. I have mine set on 4 even though I use good water. There is a product call Durgol that is a liquid, where you could run a heavier solution to try to remove the scale. Yours is a 208v machine, so you want to make sure that you use the descale mode in the menu or you could cause your boilers to leak. I have some if you need one.
The first thing you need to do is go to your menu. Scroll down to water hardness and push the enter button. Use your up arrow and move the number to 4 if it is not already there. Push the enter button. Once it is on 4, then scroll up to descale machine and push enter. Have your solution (NOT VINEGAR) Citric Acid dissolved in solution and put into water tank. Now open the knob for steam and let the machine do its thing. When it is all done it will say "Finished descaling". Rinse out the water tank and put in fresh water. Close the knob and then reopen it again. When it finished rinsing scroll down to "Reset Descale" Push enter and choose "Yes" with the arrow and push enter. This will bring up a message when it needs to be descaled again. You can also see how many coffee’s you have made. It’s just above the Descale Machine in your menu. Descale more often than Not Enough will keep your machine working well into the future.
HI These machines run water through the boilers and is heated to either 192 degrees for the main boiler or 250 degrees for the steam boiler. There is mineral in all water except distilled. That mineral deposits itself inside you boilers and needs to be removed. I guessing that the water hardness in your menu is set on 1, but should be set on 4. You need to descale more often than not enough or you get what is happening to you right now. I am hoping that a good descaling will do the trick, but it might take 2, that it needs. Use a commercial descaler for espresso machines, not vinegar which will leave a taste for about 2 weeks.
