    Hi

As far as I understand Vista is supported but according to the information from Dynex on the second link I gave

-When I try to install the drivers for my DX-EF101 in my Windows 2000/XP/Vista I get an error message about Windows 98/Me.

The drivers that come with the DX-EF101 are only for Windows 98 and Me. For Windows 2000, XP and Vista, the product is Plug & Play (you connect it to the USB port and it's ready to be used).
You can check for proper installation by going to My Computer. You should have a 3 1/2 Floppy Drive. Just stick a Floppy disc in the drive and double-click the icon.

According to this under My computer Vista should have recognised the drive through plug and play. If the drive is not showing under My Comuter it is possible that plug and play has been disabled on your machine from opening automatically - therefore you will need to enable it.

To re-enable the service in Vista press
windows key+R, type services.msc, select plug and play service and right click, select properties, set service to auto, click start the service or reboot the computer, your choice. Plug and Play will now work automatically and this should help Vista to recognise the drive.

If you are still having problems - let me know and I will do my best to help.

Does CAD KEY 19 work in windows 7 ?

If you run it in Windows 7 in Windows 95/98/00 or NT 4.x compatibility mode then there is no reason why it wouldn't work. To do this;
1. Right-click on the executable (.exe) file and click on 'Properties'
2. Click on the 'Compatibility' tab
3. Check the box next to 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:'
4. Select 'Windows 98/Windows Me', 'Windows 2000' or 'Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 5)'
5. Click 'Apply' then 'OK'
6. Double-click the executable (.exe) file to open.

Hope this helps!

What is a binary file

A binary file is commonly referred to as a windows executable file.
These files are denoted by the .exe trailing the end of the file name.

These two terms "binary" and "executable" can be used interchangeably in this scenario.

An .exe file or executable is a file that launches a program or installation of a program... thusly called executable, as it executes a command.

Hope this helps!

Cheers!

The game was released in 1998, and was developed for Windows 95/98.

To make the game run on Windows XP, try the compatibility for the installation and after it is installed use the same steps for making the game executable file compatible.

Note: Some game ".exe" file (executable file) would let you make changes in the Compatibility option, whereas older games might not give that option at all.

You can still try to make the game compatible for installing it on the Windows Vista by following the steps below.

1. Insert the game disc in your CD-ROM drive, if the game setup or the autorun starts, exit it.

2. Open "Computer", Right Click the Cd Drive which has the game disk in it and select "Copy".

3. Go to your "Desktop" right click and then select "New" and click on "Folder" this should create a new folder on your desktop.

4. Open the New Folder and then Right Click and select "Paste".

6. After all the files are copied to the "New Folder" without any error messages then locate the file "Setup.exe" or "Setup" and right click and click on "Properties".

7. In the new window click on the "Compatibility" tab and run the program in compatibility mode for "Windows 98/ Windows Me" and then click on "Apply". (You can also try "Windows 95")

8. After applying changes double click on "Setup.exe" or "Setup" to launch the installation.

You can delete all the files copied from the CD after completing the installation

After the game is successfully installed right click on the game shortcut or the game ".exe" in the root folder of the game and click and click on "Properties".

In the new window click on the "Compatibility" tab and run the program in compatibility mode for "Windows 98/ Windows Me" and then click on "Apply". (Again, you can also try "Windows 95")

The game files need to be copied to the hard drive because the files on the game disk would not let you make changes while on the disk.

There are lot of files that need to be changed in order to get full functionality and to communicate with operating system and the hardware, hence there is no guarantee that the game might run even in cases where you will successfully install an older version of the game with the above mentioned steps.

Download and install the following files and try again. The should also work with Windows ME as it is just a dressed up version of Windows 98.

For Windows 95, 98 and NT VBRun60.exe - VBRun60.exe installs Visual Basic 6.0 run-time files.
VBRun60sp5.exe - VBRun60sp5.exe installs Visual Basic 6.0 sp5 run-time files

For Windows 98 only DCOM98.exe - Extends the support for Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) for Microsoft Windows 98.
