Question about Kitchen Ranges

1 Answer

I have a Kenmore oven, F2 error, not heating, fan not running!

I have a Kenmore oven (911.46759590 model) It's display occasionally says F2, it does not seem to get as hot as it should, the bottom heating element feels cooler than the top, and I am not hearing the fan running. Is this one big problem or several different ones? Where do I start? Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Looking up your fault code and this is what I found :

replace oven control (also called clock or ERC). It's the temp control unit for the oven, this could explain your lack of heat.

Kenmore elite electric oven model 790.48033800 stopped heating after running a cleaning cycle. Fan in oven runs, display remains at 100 degrees.

You are basically saying it cannot correctly read the temperature and does not heat the oven any more?
I am thinking this sounds far more like the thermostat that has failed as it reads the temperature, and also regulates the heater on/off depending on what setting you have selected. Easily replaced but will almost certainly require removing the oven from the cabinet (why won't it come out? Usually there are 2 or 3 screws vertically up each side viewable when oven door is open; remove them and slide the whole oven forward).
Good luck

OR

F2 Temperature runaway detected (Bake/Broil: 600 - 700 F; Clean: 930 - 1000 degrees F). Sounds alarm and resets to non-cook mode. Check relay board for stuck contacts. Kenmore Classic Grille model 911-469-8813 error F2

Over time I have had to replace the control module at the front of the oven. It gets baked by the oven heat, and unfortunately costs hundreds of dollars to replace. I have avoided further failures by making sure the downdraft exhaust fan is ALWAYS on when the oven is on. This seems to keep it cool enough.

Kenmore microwave model 63792 displays F2 error message

The F2 error code on your microwave oven is a membrane failure.
It is recommended that you replace the membrane first & if you still have problems to replace the control board.
