Double check the thermostat and make sure the water pump is doing its job. To check the thermostat, simply take it out and reassemble the housing with out the unit. Run the engine and hopefully it will get warm to hot. If not check the pump.

There is either A).an oil leak or B). the smoke is from residue oil spilled on exhaust and such during the repair. Crank the engine and look everywhere for an evident oil leak if one is not found leave it run till it gets hot enough to show where the white smoke is coming from and see then if it is residue or a new leak. 2003 lincoln aviator/how do you know if there's motor damage

Your car shouldn't have just suddenly started burning oil. Its possible it's leaking in the engine compartment and the leak is dripping onto the hot exhaust manifold and the. The smoke is blowing out the back as you drive. I would think it's unlikely that the engine has been damaged since the check-engine light should have come on if the oil level was low enough to cause damage.

If hii find that bluish smoke is coming from the exhaust pipes, then the next thing to check is whether it smokes on acceleration or deceleration. If the latter, it may be just a valve issue. If it smokes a lot on startup, then it may be rings.

You have too many unrelated problems for this to be a simple fix. I HIGHLY Recommend you go to Car Fax and see if this car was a recovery from a flooded area because that is the only thing that makes sense of all these problems. If it was then you should contact you local DA about the issues with the car and the fact that it was not identified to you that the vehicle was recovered from a flooded area and had water damage. This is required under the law and the dealer or person who failed to tell you this is obligated to give your money back or fix the vehicle at no cost to you. The only time I have seen these types of faults all at once is in a faulty ECM that has faulted due to water damage.

You might be looking at a head, or head gasket issue. White smoke is usually due to coolant mixing in your combustion chamber, or cylinder. Blue smoke is from oil. Your loss of coolant and high temperature might be the clue. A leak down test and coolant system pressure test should tell the tale for you.

do u have white smoke coming out of tailpipe and check oil if it is overfull and looks like chocolate milk most possible a blown head gasket--if you dont have those problems than check coolant holding tank for proper level run vehicle and let warm up if thermostat doesnt open or water pump not working heater core lines will be cool and vehicle will start to over heat but have engine trouble codes read sum auto stores such as auto zone /advanced auto do it for free

It sounds like you may need valve seals.
The oil sits in the head after the engine is cut off and leaks around the seals into the cylinder.
When you start the engine it burns the oil and sends the smoke out of the tailpipes.
It does not hurt anything much if it is not to bad.

My truck blows white smoke

Hello!
There are two differnt reasons for black and white smoke coming from the tail pipe.
Black smoke means fuel runs rich (car getting to much gas). Check fuel pressure/air filter.
In some cases the white smoke means car is burning oil or transmittion fluid. Have tem checked/replaced.
If you can feel a smelly smoke it can be catalytic converter.
In a worsest scenario if car blowing white smoke it can be engine coolant is getting into an engine cylinder from a bad head gasket ,or a warped/cracked head. So you need to keep your eye on coolant level and check your engine for overheat. Also might be good to check your oil for traces of coolant (on a dipstick it would be a milky substance mixture of oil and coolant).
Good Luck
