Does it tell you a specific error? Are you certain you are selecting the right printer when you are trying to print? Are you able to print other things just fine? Please let me know the error and we can figure this out.

THanks

Tim

Are you sure you have the correct printer selected? Go to file and print from there, it should ask you to verify the printer. It sounds like its trying to print to the built in document printer in windows, not your real printer. Also you can click start, go to printers and it will bring up a window with your printers. Right click on your actual printer and make sure it set to default.

    Thanks

I'm sure it's a print setup problem in quicken, try the file - print steps like I mentioned before and make sure the printer is default. Also, try a FILE - Print Preview in quicken, does it look normal there? Does it say its going to print to the correct printer?

    Thanks

Does the print preview look normal? You are probably checking that now. Make sure you back up your quicken in case you need to reinstall. Also, have you been able to print the register in the past? Could you please turn off your caps lock key, it makes it very difficult to read all capitalized letters.

    Thanks
    Tim

Have you tried a simple reboot? If the preview looks correct and it shows the right printer, something is going on.

Not exactly sure either, to me it would mean network 01, is the printer directly connected to the computer? What is the name of the printer under the printers window if you go to start, printers?

  • Tim Grayson
    Tim Grayson Jul 20, 2009

Well that sounds like the problem right there, you should be able to select a printer in quicken that is identical in name to the one in the printers window in the control panel...

Check the drop down list of printers.

When you go to FILE then PRINT in quicken it should let you choose your printer right there. Also, did you make sure that the correct printer is marked as default in the Printers window we keep going back to?

Ok good, did you find where you can change printers in Quicken

  • Tim Grayson
    Tim Grayson Jul 20, 2009

That doesnt make any sense, according to the quicken documents you should be able to go to:

File menu and select Printer Setup for Reports/Graphs.

What version of Windows are you running? Please turn off your CAPS LOCK key.

How do you change VAT rate on Quicken 2002

You cannot do this on the normal account register, as you might have done in earlier versions of Quicken. You have to use two special registers, by creating a BUSINESS BILLS and a CUSTOMER INVOICES register. To do this tap the CREATE NEW ACCOUNT button, in the MY FINANCES screen, and select these registers from the dialogue box. When you receive a payment from a customer, open the CUSTOMER INVOICES register. Then... 1. Tap the TYPE box, and choose INVOICE from the drop down list. This will enter INVC into the box. 2. Look at the button under the BALANCE column. Instead of the usual SPLIT button, this is now labelled FORM. Click on this, and a Customer Invoice Form will appear. Fill in the details from the invoice you have received. Under AMOUNT enter the amount received, less VAT. In the V column, enter the symbol for the appropriate VAT RATE, and Quicken will calculate and enter the VAT amount. 3. When you have completed all the required boxes on the form, click the SAVE AND DONE button, and The form will close. 4. You will see that Quicken has entered the details in the correct Registers. I 5. When you produce your VAT REPORT your item will appear with its details in the correct places. The process for entering a payment is similar, but you will then be using the Business Bills register. Problem solved ! John Cunliffe

Printing check error code 7224

Using Quicken Premier 2009 on Windows 7 x64 with HP OfficeJet 7310.

My check wouldn't print and was booted out of Quicken. Validated data (was OK), reinstalled Quicken Premier 2009 (per instructions above), checked printer and driver (was-OK), I still could not print checks (error code 7215 and quicken closed).

SOLUTION: I deleted the transaction I was trying to print, the re-entered it. It printed fine.

Quicken reports & reconciliations wont print

If your printer prints other documents properly then it is a problem with the driver for your Quicken program. Go to the Quicken site and upload the latest driver for your operating system.

Dear Sir/Madam,

To resolve this issue:
  1. From the Quicken File menu, choose Printer Setup, and then select the form that you are trying to print.
  2. Make sure that all selections and settings in the Printer Setup window are correct, especially the selection in the Printer drop-down list.
  3. If all information is correct, click Cancel and proceed to step 4. Otherwise, click OK after making the necessary corrections, and then try printing again.
  4. If the message persists, exit Quicken.
  5. Click the Microsoft® Windows® Start button, choose Settings, and then choose Printers.
  6. Right-click your printer and choose Properties.
  7. Click the Advanced tab, clear the Enable advanced printing features checkbox, and then click OK. Restart Quicken and try printing again.
  8. If the message persists, exit Quicken.
  9. Double-click Add Printer and proceed through the Add Printer wizard until you reach the window that asks for the printer manufacturer and model.
  10. Select the manufacturer for ex. HP, and then select the printer HP DeskJet 550C (or any other HP DeskJet 500 series printer). Follow the onscreen directions in the wizard to finish adding the printer.
  11. Restart Quicken. From the File menu, choose Printer Setup, and then select the form that you are trying to print.
  12. Select the printer you added in step 10 from the Printer drop-down list and then click OK.
Completely uninstall the old version and install the new version. Before install clear registry and temp files. Update the latest driver for printer.
Thanks
Good Luck

Quicken 2009 Deluxe will not print on Vista 64 system on HP 5610 All-in-one printer - ran all the usual suspects about drivers, rebooting, selecting right printer, etc. etc. no luck. Seems Quicken does...

Me too. None of my printers worked and each time I tried Quicken crashed. But only quicken had this problem. Then I read this super simple fix:
  • Click Edit from the menu bar, and choose Preferences > Quicken Program.
  • Go to Register > Notify, and remove the check mark from “Warn if a check number is re-used”
  • Click OK.
  • Print checks.
At this location: http://tinyurl.com/moehn3

Worked like a charm. Go figure. Wasn't even a duplicate check number.

Have Quicken 2008 and HP J6400 printer. Can print reports but can not print checks

Check that the problem is not caused by mismatched paper size, in that case you may need to correct printer settings and adjust also settings on Quicken.

Quicken 2008 is also known for having several bugs that affect printing, if you are considering an update to 2009, that should fix the problem.

You can also check if a patch to fix the problem is available contacting quicken online, check the links below:

Go to print checks and application closes

I had the same problem and contacted Intuit. If there are any duplicate check numbers for the checks you are about to print, a bug in R6 causes the program to blow out. I had some check numbers that were from over 10 years ago that were causing the problem. Go in and tell it not to warn for duplicate numbers, and it may fix the problem. They said it is to be cured in future releases.

Basic Quicken on Windows Vista will not print to HP psc 2410

Symptoms:
This issue occurs after updating to Release (R6). Quicken is attempting to display a duplicate check number message, when the error occurs. We have identified this issue to be caused by one or more duplicate check numbers in the checking register.

Solution 1
  1. When clicking Print Checks, the next Check # to be printed is displayed. Take note of the check #, and then click Cancel.
  2. From the Checking register, click Find and search for the check number.
  3. Edit the transaction(s) to include the correct check number, or remove the check # from the transaction.
  4. Print checks.

Solution 2
  1. Click Edit from the menu bar, and choose Preferences > Quicken Program.
  2. Go to Register > Notify, and remove the check mark from “Warn if a check number is re-used”
  3. Click OK.
  4. Print checks.
