Try another Cord/Charger with the EXACT same power specs. Have you cleaned the fan, vents, heatsink recently? Do you get to any screen? BIOS setup? Boot Menu? Has the AC jack been damaged due to pulling on the cord?
can you see any POST messages when you first turn it on? ie amount of ram / discs etc..if not try connecting an external monitor it might be the screen malfunctioning also is your psu generating the correct voltage ( 18-20v) if you can , remove ( for 20secs then replace) the internal 5v battery to reset the bios..remove the battery pack and power first though bottom line is..your mobo could be f****ed or your bios corrupt best of luck
the battery might be hosed up will it boot without the battery and just plugged to ac - if it wont boot from ac with the battery remover send it to acer
Turn off notebook. Remove the battery. Press Power button. Notebook should start working. Wait for 15 secs. If the screen still blank press Power button and hold it for approx. 4 seconds until notebook is powered off. Then press power button again. Bingo, problem should be solved.
Try taking out battery and plug in power. If it works, battery is faulty. If not, try taking out your hard disk plug in power, if it works, hard disk is faulty.Try taking out memory card, if there's a sound, memory card faulty. If no sound, it's your motherboard that is causing the error.
Note: If machine is under warranty no need to pay for the repairs.
Hi there. Try taking the battery out and booting it on AC power only, if it boots up turn it back off and reinsert the battery, turn the computer on, if it boots up all good, if not please post back.
If you dont see any green lights and you dont hear any boot up sounds ( hd, fans, etc) try to take out battery and just plug in the AC adapter to a known good power outlet. Make sure your power plug is good too. If you hear boot-up sounds, see green lights but no display then toggle on the "fn" key and or try on an external monitor.
Hi Melody,
Try removing the battery with the AC unplug for a couple of minutes (an hour preferably).
Try with just the AC adapter only with no battery and see if it works; try with the battery only and see if it works, try with both the battery and the AC adapter and see if it works.
If none of the above will make it work, then you have probably a hardware issue or BIOS power saving issue.
Post back results of the 3 tries and will figure something else.
Good luck and kind regards.
