I have a Panasonic dvd-S58. "Root" pops up and doesn't play the movie. I have tried pushing all the menu buttons and no menu pops up it gives you the circle symbol with the slash through it.

SOURCE: Just got this Toshiba DVR620KU and need to record

Good one!

Sounds like you are doing everything right. Only things I can think of are:

- Make sure the disc is a blank one.
- Try a different disc.
- Make sure the tape you are trying to dub is not encoded with Macrovision copyguarding. If it is a home-made recording then you are OK, but a factory recording on a store bought tape may cause some difficulties.

If you are still having troubles try a complete 15 minute reset by unplugging from the power source.

Good luck!

Panasonic DVD S48 - DVD player how to play movies over usb

Yes, I know Panasonic DVD S48, if your movie file is right divx avi movie file, you can directly transfer the divx avi movie file to your usb disk and play on your Panasonic DVD S48, but if your movie files isn\'t divx avi movie file, you have to use a right software to convert your movies to right divx avi movies, then transfer to your usb disk, convert any movies to divx avi movies.

Dvd s58 how to make it multy zone

hi,
To make your dvd player region free ,you also need a pansonic tv's or home theater's remote. Do the following with the two remote to make you player region free.

The new Panasonic DVD players DVD-S38 & DVD-S58 have a different way of being multizoned. An extra Panasonic remote is required ie: from TV or home theater:
Power On, Tray Open.
Using remote control included press: Audio, 1, 9, 8, 2. Press Subtitle.
Using another Panasonic remote press Pause.
On the remote included, press 0.
'On' will be displayed on the unit.

How do i make my panasonic s58 region 4

Unfortunately, many DVD players are specifically designed for playing Region 1 DVDs only. I was unable to determine whether it's possible to change regions, but I did locate a Firmware Update for you player which may help it perform better:

How do i unlock the panasonic dvd-s38 to play all region dvds

In addtion to the S68/S38 remote this hack requires a universal remote configured for the S58/S38 with a separate 'Pause' button (or another Panasonic DVD remote with a separate 'Pause' button may work).

Neither the 'Play/Pause' nor 'Frame' buttons on the S58/S38 remote work for this hack.

1. Power on.

2. Open tray.

3. Using the S58/S38 remote press Audio, 1, 9, 8, 2, Subtitle

(it is not required but, if the TV is on, it will display the 'no go' icon after each key press - ignore it).

4. Using the other remote press Pause.

5. Using the S38 remote press 0.

The DVD front panel should now show the text "on".

If so, the DVD is region-free.

Hi trying to clear regional code on dvd player panasonic s58 please advise Cheers

Hi there, the problem with this type of dvd player is that the remote has a pause/play combined button. You need to get yourself a generic remote and program it to use the dvd player, make sure it has a seperate play/pause button. When you have this remote use the following code :

Audio, 1, 9, 8, 2, Subtitle, Pause and then 0

Make sure you have the disc tray open at the time. The screen should display "On" if the code worked correctly.

I hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa
