It could very well be a De-gauss fault, this is caused by magenetic build up. The solution is to try & gat access to a de-gauss coil, you do not have to remove the back of the TV to fix this. If this has no effect then the positor inside the TV at the power supply stage could be at fault or there is the possibility the shadowmask part of the tube is at fault which would result in a replacement tube.

My screen starts blinking blue then goes all blue and pops and shuts off. I can wait hours and reset and it will come back on but the problem repeats itself.

This is symptom of bad/ defective blue picture tube that will be replaced to fix this problem.
Blue picture tube replacement is job of professional because it requires lots of convergence adjustments for correct picture and picture tube price would also be bit high.
Let me know to provide you blue picture tube part number info.

How to replace picture tube

Replacing 27" picture tube must be done very carefully as it will have bulky and care must be taken not to break it. You have to disassemble the internal circuit boards from the TV for that. Make sure to mark every pull out sockets whcih are connected to the circuit board as a rough drawing on a paper, otherwise you may be confused later. You just open the back cover of the Tv, some Samsung models may have locks also with them with fixing screws. Keep the set opened, do a close whatch tho its connections, and board positions. Most of them are pushed in to slots and can be pulled out easely.
Colour picture tubes are integrated with its deflection yoke, as company fittings. We can't replace them alone with an accuracy as they did, which needs sophisticated equipments. normally wires going to the deflection yoke are connected to the board with a socket. A four wire connection is common. Out of them, two is for Horizontal Deflection, and the others two are for vertical deflection. The deflection yoke fitted at the neck of the picture tube has internal windings for both.
Pull out and detach the deflection yoke connection from the board first. be carefull becuse, it may be a little tight to detach, and keep your hands so away from the neck or the present picture tube. If it breaks accidently, may be dangerous. Next look into more connections to be detached. There will ba a two wire connection that comes from the coil fitted around the picture tube, which is called degaussing coil. Pull out the neck board gently and causiously. Pull out all boards out and you have done the half job.
Unscrew the four mounting screws that fixes the picture tybe to front cabin. Gently pull it out from it, you must havav an another to assist you, since it is heavy. Place it somewhere on a blanket upside down.
Seperate the degaussing coil of this picture tube, make notice its connection position, and fit it to the new picture tube, where it will have this coil. It only have deflection coil, and purity magenets on its neck, permanantly fixed. Place this picture tube to the fromt cabin, after placing a smooth folded blanket or so to prevent it from any scratch, screw it to a gentle tight positon inorder to keep it there fixed. Never overtight that screws, as it mat brake the glass envelope of the tube.
Desolder the wire from the old picture tube, note the positions of them. It is best to cut it out from there very close to the soldering point, so that a little bit of wire with insulation be there. It will help you when reconecting wires to the new picture tube, as they are colour coded. Replace all the boards and wires disconnected later according the markings we have done. That is all. Ok

How do i fix a 1988 tecmo ninja gaiden arcade game monitor was playing fin now no picture need to replace picture tube i belive what is the problem with it how do i fix it

It could be a flyback and not the tube itself but if it is the tube you can get another tube for this unit basically any tube the same size will work but then you would need the flyback as well.

I did not understand the total problem as your message was fragmented.

12 yr. old 25" G.E. picture fading

I gotta love it when people make up answers. There is no such thing as a "contrass module". I'm assuming the poster meant "contrast". The trouble is your 12-year-old picture tube. It's gotten weak and isn't getting as bright or sharp as it used to. Picture tube manufacturers estimate the useful life of a tube at about 7 years today. There are adjustments inside that might help some, but you need a new picture tube. It's going to cost a lot more than $60 to $75 for that. You're better off replacing the TV.

Sony Trinitron Color Rainbow

Usually when a tv is dropped the phospher screen inside the picture tube will detatch making the rainbow color This cannot be fixed as it requires changing the picture tube. Only other thing is demagnatize it with a demagnitizing coil (used by tv techs) but not likely to fix it since it was dropped. You have a bad picture tube.
