My washing machine is making some unusual noises, a kind of grinding or winding. Cant say at any particular point just when it feels like it!
sounds like the noise is coming from the bottom right hand side at the front.

Please give the model number and the brand. Model tag may be on top of console in back, when you open lid on the top center, on the left side bottom or on the right side top in back.

My washer makes a loud rubbing noise only during the wash cycle any idea what could be causing it?

Look at the pulley under the bottom center. On this model the nut often backs off and makes the pulley sit wrong which causes a kind of grinding noise.

What is causing my Kenmore top washer to make a grinding noise before the rinse cycle?

Have you replaced the clutch or spin tube? There is a brake actuator that comes with the clutch kit and if this is broken it can make a very loud grinding or clacking sound.

Grumbling Noise on Spin Cycle

If there is any form of grinding at all when the drum is turned than the rear bearings in the machine is going bad. This will only progress an get worse, then eventually start leaking and grinding and finally lock up.

Making a grinding noise in both wash and spin cycle. water is draining

Your transmission is the most likely issue. The internal gears are starting to grind. This is typical of this particular model. (manufactured by Admiral) There is a possibility that the pump pulley has come loose and is grinding on the unit's frame or pump housing itself. If this is the case, it can be fixed at a reasonable price. If it is the transmission, start shopping for a new machine. The transmission replacement is not cost effective.

My kenmore HE 2 Plus washing machine makes a loud grinding noise when it enters the pre-wash/wash cycle (worse on this cycle) then continues on through the rest of the cycles. Washer fills, rinses, spins...

Unfortunately, I don't think you will be able to fix this issue, some mechanical parts are breaking. If your appliance still under warranty, you may need to contact the appliance manufacturer for assistance. This kind of repair can be expensive and is difficult enough so a service technician may need to fix it.
