Question about Coleman Mach 15 Air Conditioner
I have a Coleman/RVP 8000 Series AC unit and the compressor will start and run for about 10 seconds and then it loads up and stalls. I have checked the run/start capacitors and the thermal overload w/a meter and a tech on the phone and the values were w/in tolerance. The incomeing voltage is about 110v, he said the ac is rated to work on 105v min. so it should be good. I had a meter on the main line and when the ac was running the voltage was about 109v but when the compressor starts loading up after the 10 seconds or so the volage drops and at 103v it stalls.
Try shutting everything else off temporarily that would draw any hydro in the unit, or even shut off all breakers except AC, and see what happens. See if it runs longer with everything else off. Double check nothing else on same circuit as your AC, and also confirm that 12/2 & not 14/2 cable size used for AC.
