Problem for Toshiba SD-V392 DVD Player / VCR Combo

DVD freezes during play using Toshiba SD-V392SU.

DVD freezes during play using Toshiba SD-V392SU. DVDs have been cleaned-happens with new DVDs and old DVDs. Play may begin again with no further interruption or continue re-freezing continually. Happens whether the player has been on for a couple minutes or for hours.
Any advice on starting troubleshooting?
