Dryer wont start. I have went through the wiring but....

Nothing seems to be wrong there. I took the top back panel off where the start switch is located but not sure how to check if the switch is working. It seems like a pretty simple start switch but i didnt want to pull it off and not know how to check it. It worked yesterday and today nothing. Please give me some of you guys advice.

If it won't do 'anything' you need to check the whole start circuit. You need a multimeter and some knowledge of electrical troubleshooting to do this. I can help you if you meet the above description...let me know

hello again,

no thier doesn't seem to big issue with with reconditioned control panels in fact i dare say yours is good since the dryer didnt start with the original one and still wont start with the one you have replaced. having checked teh thermal fuse to be good and with basically 2 control boards yet the dryer doesnt run it seems very possible the motor is going to be the problem...not sure what led ya to the control board yet it the drum doesnt turn the very part that turns it when power is applied to,if it has powewr to it and doesnt turn the drum it would seem to me its bad....dont get me wrong on this but its like having a broken leg and going to the doctor and saying i believe that my heart is weak since my legs hurts and totally disregarding the broken leg

the start switch needs replaced, as far as the front panel light not lighting you will need to open the back top panel of the dryer and find the wiring diagram and trace it out, it may something as simple as the connector is unplugged. Hope this helps Tim

Dryer Won't Start

Make sure it has power. Then:Check the door switch. A little lever sticking down through top right of door opening. If it is not there you will need new door switch(sometimes the little lever breaks off). If it is there and does not click when you press it in you need a new door switch. if it clicks when you close the door then you have a bad thermal fuse. The thermal fuse is found by taking the back of the dryer off. The fuse is an oblong white plastic piece with 2 wires attached.

Either the top pries up or at the bottom of the front panel you'll see 2 screws. If screws at bottom take out and lift off be sure to disconnect door switch wires before removing door completly. If it's pry top up use flat screw driver at about inch and a halh in from edges pop the top up and open then inside front panel toward top you'll find 2 more screws take them out and front panel should come off. Good Luck

Kenmore 80 series wont start

Common failure of these dryers is the door switch. The switch is located at the top right where the door comes in contact with the tab,

A simple test is to verify that the light is on and goes out when the switch tab is depressed.

If not replace the switch.

Hope this helps?
