Oh that sucks the mother board that the wii has most likely got fried when the power went out. sadly no way to fix this unless you replace it. and the cost, your better off buying a new one. sad to say.

Wii won't turn on after a power outage.

Hey, recently had a power outage and now your Wii won't turn on?

Well unless your Wii is completely fried from the storm then this should work (It has for me every time I have had an outage).

After you find out it's not getting power then just unplug the power cable from the wall and from the Wii. Normally I unplug it for about 12-24 hours then you go plug it back into the wall, plug it back into the Wii, look at the power button and if it is red/orange then it has been fixed and you should never have a problem with it again unless you keep it plugged in during a thunderstorm/power outage!

This has happened to me about 8 times and this method worked every single time!

WII console will not turn on

If your nintendo wii system was plugged in during a power outage it might be short -circuted. in that case i would check for warrenty and take it back to the store where it was purchased.

We had a brief power outage and now the Wii won't turn on. The power button doesn't glow red when it is plugged in.

Did the power surge when it came back on? If it did it may have burned your AC adapter up. Have you unplugged it and let it sit for about 2 minutes and see if that helps.

Won't work after power out

Just had the same issue after a brief power outage. Following the advice on this board, I simply unhooked the power cord to both the Wii and the outlet, waited a good 10 mins and hooked the cord back up - first to the outlet then to the Wii. Presto! Power light is back on.

Power Outage & Now Wii Won't Power Up...

When this same thing happened to me, I unplugged the Wii power supply from the wall (not just from the back of the Wii) and let it sit unplugged for about 10 minutes. When I plugged it back in, everything was fine.

Wii completely stops working after power outage

I just had the same problem as everyone else. I had a brief power loss and our new Wii system's power would no longer work. To fix the problem, I unplugged everything from our Wii and unplugged the power cord from the outlet. I let the system set for 10 minutes and re-plugged the power only. That did the trick. Then I was able to plug everything back up and we are now back to playing.

Supposedly, doing the steps above resets the Wii according to the Nintendo online trouble shooting guide.
