When I get in the car (doors closed) I put the key in and start the car: a alarm goes off. It is a different sound alarm than the door being open. When I turn off the car the alarm sounds again?

I assume the factory alarm was somehow bypassed when they installed the remote start is there a way I can make the factory alarm work when the doors are opened without key,?

To arm content theft alarm.
1. Open the door.
2. Lock the door with the power door lock switch or
the remote keyless entry transmitter. The
SECURITY light should flash.
3. Close all doors. The SECURITY light should go off
after approximately 30 seconds. The alarm is not
armed until the SECURITY light goes off.

If a locked door is opened without the key or the remote keyless entry transmitter, the alarm will go off. The headlamps and parking lamps will flash for two minutes, and the horn will sound for 30 seconds, then will turn off to save the battery power.

The alarm goes off when you open the door and the car will not start, but has power

Try pressing the lock and unlock buttons on the remote, holding for a few seconds, then trying the unlock and lock buttons to see if the alarm disarms...your description indicates the car alarm is still armed!

The battery for my honda civic type - r went flat and when i put a new one in the alarm went off so i tryed to sync the keys to the car ( it tuns the alarm off and u can drive it but once u lock the doors...

Here are the options for disarming a factory alarm while it's going off:

1. Close all doors, trunk and hood. Alarm will stop after preset time.

2. Hit the unlock or lock button on the remote. (One of the 2 works... I just don't remember which.)

3. With all doors, trunk and hood close, insert the key in the driver's door and unlock/lock the doors manually.

Also, is it a factory security system? Is it a honda key fob? or a remote start system perhaps?

Used the key to unlock door and alarm started going off. put key in ignition to start, but wouldn't. removed battery cable, do to neighbors, and the alarm keeps sounding. how can I shut it off? just...

With the drivers window down, and the doors closed. and locked connect the battery and lock and unlock the tailgate with the key, you need to unlock it twice to unlock the doors and turn off the alarm. If the locks are working like thier supposed to the drivers door will be unlocked and opening it won't set off the alarm. the truck should be back to normal. If not disconnect the battery again. Drivers window down. Put the key in the switch and turn the key on to the run position. With all the doors closed connect the battery. connect it good and don't bounce it around. If the battery casbles aren't clean clean them good so it'll connect good. If it still is alarming then the doors switches are likly. Or the door locking motors. You should be able to lock all the doors ( including the hatch) by hand and get the system to reset. Try it all again using a different door to double unlock as a lock switch might be sticking. If the system can't verify that all the doors are closed and locked it won't reset. If you connect the battery wihg the key turned on the system thinks it's already running and appeares to be in the unset mode.

you can try switching the key to the "on" position then open the hood and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and reconnect after 2minutes. this will allow the alarm to be '"reset" and will recognize that you have the key for the vehicle.

CAR ALARM

We have a similar problem - it doesn't go off when we open the door, but sometimes the alarm light stays on after we open the door and then when we put the key in the ignition to start the car the alarm goes off. The only thing we've found to shut the alarm off is to get out of the car and put the key in the trunk manually and open the trunk. Then after we've opened and closed the trunk, the alarm disables and then we can unlock the doors (which I believe is the step where the alarm disables) and then we can start the car without a problem.

My security system continues to sound when you open up the locked door.

Hi,
I have a 1992 Acura Legend. If the alarm goes off when you open the door when the alarm is set you may have to close the door and put the key in the door lock and turn it clockwise to turn the alarm off.
