There's probably some particles that got trapped in the filter purge valve ( the red button) preventing it from closing all the way.

You may be able to clean the valve while the filter top is still in place. Try using a small brush. A toothbrush may work if you cut off the handle. Hold the button down while you clean the inside of the valve. Then take a
spray bottle and put the sprayer tip on stream. Flush the valve from the inside.
If that did not do it, next step is to remove the top from the water lines, and flush the valve out.

I just changed my under sink culligan D30 water filter and there is a leak when I pressed the pressure button. What should I do to resolve this problem?

Well the simplest answer is the gasket isn't seated properly. The standard approach is to remove the cartridge, check for any foreign material (dirt, sand, grit, etc.), rinse with clean water if necessary and reassemble.

Sometimes these cartridge units can be fiddly to get the seals to 'seat' properly so once you're sure that the parts are together nicely then you can use a bit of pressure to tighten them up. They usually need to be fairly tight.

Can't unscrew water filter canister from main water system, I tried silicone spray didn't work.

1. Turn the incoming water off.
2. Open closest cold water faucet, let it run until no water.
3. Turn off outlet valve after filter.
4. Hold down red pressure relief button, until no water.
5. Unscrew filter bowl with filter bowl wrench (if you have one).
If this does not work repeat steps 1-5 and turn the water off at well tank or water meter. Never tighten pre-filter with wrench, changethe o-ring every year and lubricate the o-ring every time filter is changed.

I have a Culligan Super-S filter and I think the meda needs to be changed. I'm getting a lot of red water stains. Can I repack this myself? If so, can I use another manufacturers media?

Yes you should be able to replace this yourself and yes you should be able to use filters from other manufactures. Just check rating on the filter for listing of applications. To change the filter there should be a bypass valve on water line to filter. You normally push a button that routes water around the filter. There should be a spanner wrench to grasp casing of filter housing to loosen it.There also should be a small button on top of the filter housing to push down to relieve pressure to make it easier to remove filter housing.
I would make sure that you can get the right filter before doing anything. If you have what you need than bypass or shut water supply off, remove filter housing ,install new filter.Clean o-ring seals and put light coating of petrolem jelly on o-rings. Reassemble and tighten snugly.Turn water back on and open bypass, check for leaks and tighten a little more if needed. Thank you.

How do I change the filer in my Culligan unit?

Turn the water off IN & OUT, (If this is a Culligan pre-filter it may have the shutoff valve on top), Press the red pressure relief button and hold it down for several seconds. Use the wrench provide and unscrew housing. Clean out the housing, lubricate the o-ring with silicone lube, replace filter and housing. Only tighten the housing by hand. Turn incoming water back on. It helps to hold the pressure relief button down after turning water back on to purge the air.

I was changing my filter in the ge filtration system, and it says to turn off the water and press the red button. Then it says to unscrew the filter take the old one out and clean the filtrstion system...

The red button is a pressure relieve valve. If the system is leaking from the valve, try pushing the valve up from the underside of the cap where the valve is located. If this does not work the housing needs to be replaced. You do not have to replace this with a name brand like GE. All you need to do is make sure the housing that you are purchasing is the same size.

before putting cover on, chk the button to make sure it isn't staying depressed and see what the button is doing when depressed. The cover may have to be in a certain position. with the cover in place, gently rotate untill button pops up

Water leaking at filter

If this is a Pure source 2 filter in the upper right hand side of fridge, Purchase an Electrolux filter bypass, P/N 241944302. This is a empty cartridge that lets water flow without water drip when filter is clogged. Fridgidaire/Electrolux made no bypass in these filters, so when clogged they leak. Plus they NEVER last more than about 30/60 days. If you use the bypass, you will need a separate filter elsewhere such as in water line under sink or behind fridge. Call me at 816-560-8545 if you need more info.
