Every time I attempt to reply to a email sent by this particular person I get the following error code :- Message content regs tend due to suspected small OB703 [Errcode558]
Bigpond did not rebadge to telstra , telstra shut the bigpond side of the business down and moved the servers to IMAP settings
try opening the live mail page and at the top you will see accounts in the tool bar
click on accounts then click on @ properties
open the servers tab and check the settings
incoming mail server is IMAP
incoming mail is imap.telstra.com
out going mail is smpt.telstra.com
email user name is what you have now so if it is *** @ bigpond.com that remains the same
the password remains the same
click apply
next click on the advanced tab
outgoing mail smpt is 465
incoming mail IMAP is 993
click requires secure server for bothe
click apply and you are set to get your e-mails through the telstar server
may take a few hours for the settings change if you did any
send yourself a test e-mail to see it it works
Thank you for your fix but did me no good. I could not get to the mail edit page to check or change settings. But; it now works.
Live mail is a Microsoft mail program and I can now see my Telstra emails in it after setting it up. It merely required the email address and password.
The Telstra Webmail opened into my existing account with no provision to alter settings.
But it now works and sends emails?
I did get one message as the webmail opened saying - editing not available due to technical problems.
For others; see:https://www.telstra.com.au/support/categ...
I find web mail not to be a good option but if you are happy with it well and good as to not getting to the e-mail page , that is where you end up when you open windows live mail program

I have been having this same issue since November. I receive bigpond emails ok but cannot send due to this OB703 [Err code: 558]. My other email accounts work fine; that is my optus and yahoo email accounts. This problem is systemic to Telstra/bigpond email. It appears to be an issue caused by Bigpond re-badging to Telstra Media. It is most likely a filter issue. Everything sent is seen as spam when sending - hence the error code.
Open a Yahoo account as a work around. It will not fix the problem but offers a solution. Then have your emails sent to the Yahoo account.
