Question about Nikon COOLPIX P80 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Nikon CoolPix P80 Transfer software does not activate.

The transfer program CD loads without any problem. When I make my selections, and hit Start Transfer, nothing happens. I can hit Stop Transfer with the same results--nothing.

I had a similar problem. I uploaded my Nikon transfer program with no problem, and first time had no problem loading photos. Second time the transfer prompter did not come up on the screen. My manual said something about having a fully charged battery. I tried re-charging my camera battery, and tried again. It worked! The program came up and my photos uploaded.

I have one of these cables and cannot get it to work either, but more to your problem.
You are unlikely to get programs to transfer from one pc to the other and have them working as they need to be registered in the registry - which you can only do by installing them from the disc or install file.
You can transfer the data quite easily using a usb memory stick, in fact just keep the data on the memory stick then you can plug it into any pc and access your files.

5 Select a folder in which you have kept your music or picture files and click OK.
6 Return to Add to library dialog box and click OK.
> Windows Media Player will start scanning the folder and add available music or picture files
to the library.

I have installed the Nikon Transfer software and am using the usb port connector. All I get is "the camera is busy" and zero program showing up in the dialog box where you select "always use this program"....

I had the same problem with the same camera. What worked for my pc was to start the Nikon Transfer software, select the camera and press the "start transfer" button. Nothing happens for about 6-7 minutes, but after that the transfer starts.
My pc: XP SP3
Camera: Coolpix L100
Nikon Transfer: ver. 1.3.0 (i used the software that came with the camera not the up to date version 1.5.3, but it might work with that version also

I can't transfer my photos. Transfer doesn't come

Make sure camera is off. After you plug your camera into your computer turn camera on. This should open the program for you. If not, right click on START button, go to EXPLORE, find your camera in the list. right click on camera, go to OPEN WITH. Select the program you want to use and VIOLA, you're in.

Hope this info was helpful to you. Good Luck!

How to Transfer Maps to GPSmap 60csx

Have you highlighted the section with the map select tool, then hit the Transfer to GPS button? If you do, what happens then? Does it freeze?

If you are able to send routes and waypoints to the unit, you should be able to send selected unlocked maps as well.
