What tool do I need to remove the cover of a Dell Dimension 4600PC Desktop

There is no tool neccesary to remove the side and front panel. Once the side panel is removed, there is a tab that will have a curve to it on the side of your cd drive and also tabs down the side, disengage these and the front cover will break free and pulll to the right and straight back. do this in reverse when reinstalling you will hear clicks when the reengage the chassis. Hope this helps

What tool do I need to remove the cover of a Dell Dimension 4600PC Desktop

To remove the side panel you need a phillips head screwdriver. This will give you acces to the entire inside of the computer. Should you still need to remove the front cover (where the on/off button is), it should just snap off.

I need printed instructions on how to install Dell Dimension 4600c power supply. I ordered the part but it came with no instructions.

Power Supply Removing the Power Supply caution.gif CAUTION: Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions in your Owner's Manual or Product Information Guide. caution.gif CAUTION: To guard against electrical shock, always unplug your computer from the electrical outlet before removing the cover.
  1. Follow the procedures in "Before You Begin."

  2. Remove the fan assembly.

  3. Disconnect the AC power cable from the AC power connector on the back of the power supply.

  4. Unplug the DC power cables from the drives and system board.

  5. Remove the four screws that secure the power supply to the back of the computer.
OR

As you add more devices to your Dell Dimension 4600 desktop, it is important to ensure there is enough electrical power being fed to the components. While the 250 Watt power supply that comes standard with the Dell Dimension 4600 is acceptable at stock settings, it is almost certainly not capable of providing power for many more devices such as graphics cardsmag-glass_10x10.gif and multiple hard drives. If you add such devices, you also should upgrade your Dell Dimension 4600 power supply.
