Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

3 Answers

My HP Photosmart 8250 has had a paper jam. I cleared pieces of paper via the back access door. I still got a message that it was jammed. I then opened the paper jam door in the middle of the printer and I couldn't see any obstructing paper or objects. I turned the printer on and off several times. I still get a message that "the print cartridge cradle is stuck." What can I do next to fix this?

According to above questions, other people have the same problem that I have and I see no answer to the problem other than downloading HP drivers which I will try but can't do it now. Adele Benck

At this point you shouln't be looking for paper - it appears the cradle that holds the cartridge can't move. Try to see if you can get the cradle to move a little bit so it can maybe unjam itself.

  6. Reattach the rear access door. Gently push the door toward the product until it snaps into place.

Paper jamed

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Perform the steps below in order to solve this incidence:
  1. Disconnect the power cord or power supply adaptor from the rear of the HP All-in-One product.
  2. Remove the paper pack remaining in the input tray.
WARNING - Do not try to remove the jammed paper sheet yet. Trying to clear a paper jam from the front of the device can damage the print mechanism. Always clear paper jams through the rear access door.
  1. Open the rear access door or the two-sided printing accessory.
  2. Gently pull the jammed paper sheet out of the rollers.
  3. If the paper tore when it was being removed from the rollers, check the rollers and wheels for torn pieces of paper that might remain inside the device. If not all the pieces of paper are removed from the device, paper jams are likely to occur again later.
  4. Replace the rear access door or the two-sided printing accessory.
  5. Restart the printer to continue the current job.
