Two things cause freezing of the coil, lack of charge or lack of airflow, filters, coil and blower assembly all need to be clean, the thermostat will not cause feezing as it is strictly an on off control for convienience

My refrigerator is not getting cold

Is the freezer freezing? Do you hear a fan motor running inside the freezer? If the freezer fan is working and the freezer is still getting cold, do you see allot of frost on the back wall of the freezer?

Freezer not cooling at all - t-stat or compressor would be where to check next

No fan running in freezer and freezer is cold - bad evaporator fan motor.

If fan is running and you have heavy frost on the back wall of freezer - unit is not defrosting. could be defrost timer or defrost t-stat

My wall unit cozy heater goes on when I turn on the thermostalt but it goes out one minute later. What is the cause?

by pass the wall stat, pull the 2 wires off stat and twist together and if unit runs ok it is the stat if it does the same thing by pass the stat wire by disconnecting the stat wires from the valve a put a jumper wire between the (th) terminals.

Colman centrial air conditioner. A coil freezes up solid restricting all air flow. model # on the ID Plate on the A coil is MCB36CQD. Thanks for your help

This is the time of year for icing up acoils. Hot days and cool nights have something to do with it, however you might need to clean the acoil. Use a product called NON RINSE FOAMING COOLING COIL CLEANER from a hardware store. You spray it on and its foam pulls **** out of the acoil from deep within and then it goes down the drainpan and serves to open it up as well. Good stuff.

Model 106 56569400 - Freeze side appears to be Ok. Refrig side not cooling to set temp 37. Current temp is 55-60. Door appears to seal properly.

If you have heavy frost build up on the back wall of your freezer you have a defrost problem. One of three things. Defrost timer, Defrost T-stat or Defrost heater. Usually problem is with the T-stat. If no frost make sure the evap fan is blowing. You should be able to hear a fan noise when opening freezer. If no fan noise replace evap fan which is located half way up behind freezer wall. Good Luck

The freezer side of our Whirlpool refrigerator isn't freezing

open the freezer door,do you hear fan blowing if you don't bad evap fan motor, replace it, if that's ok touch the back wall of freezer, remove second from bottom rack and touch back wall,if there is snow or ice there you have a defrost problem, take off the back wall and find out what part is bad, could be t-stat,heater,or timer depending on year,if you can find timer advance it with screw driver and if heater comes on you have bad timer, you'll need a meter to read out t-stat and heater

2 Air Conditioner Problems

Whinny noise is probably motor which needs some motor machine oil (hardware store).

Freezing is probably caused by bad de-icing switch or poorly insulated de-icing switch.

If you want to further pursue, let me know.

I set temp to 74 and stop at 70 and decresing.

Sounds like the variances are not set right. if I am understand you. You set the thermostat to 74 and the heater shuts off at 70? If that is correct then the variances are wrong or you have placed the T stat in a bad location where it is getting heat from a vent, wall where there is a appliance or in a very drafty location
