Question about Televison & Video
My insignia NS-32LCD turns on and runs just fine the first time you turn it on, but the screen goes blank after about five minutes, and won't restart for a while. Unplugging it for a minute or two doesn't fix it, I shined a light on it, and as far as i can tell I think the whole screen is shutting off, not just the backlight, if you let it be for awhile, it will restart and run again for a few minutes, as if it's getting hot and shutting off. If you leave it on, after it shuts off, it won't restart, making me think the problem is in a circuit that is powered all the time, not just the cathode getting hot or something. Lastly, it will shut off whether it is displaying something, or it has a blank ''searching for source'' screen, making me think it isn't a problem with the driver, but again, I don't really know anything, just a farm kid making observations...
Any ideas? Does this sound like anything you've seen before?

If you've done the flash light test, it could be the inverter board became defective but it could also be that the power supply does not provide the +24VDC to the back light inverter board.
If you could do the +24VDC test using a voltmeter then we can say for sure that the back light inverter board is defective.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
