Because I've been tapping everywhere and it still won't accept the tapes. The worst part is, I sent it in before when I had the same problem and got it fixed for over $100. Now, a little over a year later, it won't take tapes again. Where do I need to tap it?

-Try couple time to be master. I believe all mobile phone might be slightly different but still in the same process.
Set the phone to store pictures on the card. Tap the camera icon to bring up the camera, then tap the gear to bring up the setting menu. Tap the down-arrow, then tap "Select Storage" to switch between camera and memory card. Tap "OK" when done.
Turn off the computer. Hold the Fn key and power key to boot the computer in diagnostic mode. Follow the onscreen instructions to see if you have any hardware issues. This sounds like bad sectors on the OS boot partition.
If you don't hear the normal sound, that the camara exept the tape, you problibly forgot to push in the tap of the tape receive mecanisme, before you close the cap. Closing the cap does not cause acceptance of the tape, like other camcorders.
what camera is it ??
Due to the frequency of changing batteries on my camera, I have 'dremelled' a very fin pin hole through teh side of the case, and into the battery holder.
Then opened the case hole up to accept a small screw, then allowed the scre to tap itself into the battery housing.
Small phillips screw nice and flush on the case now.
Works for me, and could save you money and tape !!
